What a FANTASTIC DAY.

Made my morning delivery and enough time on the road to catch up with the bunch at Richmond Maccas. Good start to the day.

We stopped for lunch before our visit to the orchard at Pie in the Sky Bilpin. Good pies and excellent little place to stop for a feed before or after your trip. Randomest thing was that Aunty Stella knew two of the ladies working there... they use to live down the road from her?!?! She seems to know everyone left, right and centre!!! I chose the steak, bacon and cheese. It was a little rich and thick but actually pretty good for a pie (not a massive fan). Justin's pepper steak looked good too. 

First purchase for Justin. Orange & Mango Jam and Lemonade & Ginger Jam. Looked good but pricey at $8/jar.

Then we went down the road to Pine Crest Orchard for our apple pilgrimage. The place has been done up a little since two years ago. A little more commercialized and some more facilities but we still consider it to be one of the better (family-run) orchards in the area and very reasonable priced at $3.50/kg for what you pick. Free entry and all you can eat apples within the orchard.

We had a good couple of hours of fun running around, frolicking, taking selfies, peeling apples, eating apples, picking apples, finding raspberries, climbing each other, picking persimmons and sweating our butts off!

Drove via the hills home and literally drove into the storm. It was worse just as we got home so that was lucky. But a cool end to the day.

And we're now in the midst of making pikes of apple crumble and apple pies. YUMYUMYUM.

The boys double-teaming (Justin on Albert, LOLs)... Wendie was too heavy. Ari wasn't tall enough and Justin had long arms. Was a good effort boys, for those 3 pears we managed and few very large, juicy red apples...

Justin is worse at taking selfies than me.. cutting my face off!
