I kept thinking my suitcase was magical... like Hermione's little bag in HP where she can pull out all sorts of items, I thought that my suitcase was invincible and could fit absolutely everything and anything I bought... how wrong I was...!
So it's awesome that the parents wanted to come (yes, again!) and so I took Monday off for a long weekend with them. We did Skytree > Asakusa > Kappadashi > Ginza and Enoshima on the second day. It was so beach weather at Enoshima (actually, we almost melted) and it was so nice to make it on a day where they had a festival going! Had some local fish fry on rice which is the local speciality and grilled clams. Yum yum yum.
Spent the last afternoon around Ginza where I got lots of my last minute souvenirs... who knew that they would take up so much space and weight? But I guess you're all worth it!
Work was a bit busy and a bit sad that it was my last week. Everyone was so sweet though and I got lots of traditional japanese souvenirs including handmade glass, chopsticks and a fan! And a beautiful card signed by people in Australia, Singapore and Japan... feeling very special indeed!
Spent my last day in Tokyo (my birthday!) going to the Shiseido cafe followed by a final walk thorugh Ginza and last minute packing... yes, everything fit and I didnt even had a hand carry suitcase (already shipped home). Thank you to each and every one of my friends and colleagues who made the past 6 months so memorable. I will truly miss you, our lunches, drinks, day trips, laughs and your camaraderie. Until we reunite in another country!
