and i took scout for a walk, and its nice to know that in the 21st century, there was still this lovely little house down the road from us that we walked past and outside their picketed gate were these little buckets of lemons with a sign saying

'take me. i'm free =)'

my second attempt at posting tonight.
i went on yet another trip down memory lane. but this time it was just my archives. some good memories, some not so good. and some very funny ones. and its only when u reflect on times like these that you realise how much things have changed. me especially.
anyway, worked today and marwah called me to the office to ask if i could start tomorrow at 8 in the morning. and i was like 8.. thats so early? and shes like yeah i know but paul was thinking 6 or 7. and im like '!!!' and he was there too and turns to me and goes half-jokin, stop whinging 8 isnt early! i would get u to come in at 6 if i could. and im like.. yeah alrite, i need to start getting up earlier for uni soon anyway. hahaha i think i've said it before. im saying it again and i know a lot of people will disagree with me but i think im beginning to (in the very least) get use to him or he's not as bad as i thought he was, etc. for one thing, im not 'scared' of him.

this morning i skipped the gym for my dearest valerie. i thought i was gonna be late cause there was a stupid long long line at the petrol station (as usual). i KNEW i shouldve filled up yesterday (it was cheaper too damnit!). so i didnt get petrol until like 20 mins to 11 (i left home at quarter past too!) and i was like shit shit, she's gonna kill me (val and time management.. u get the drift). and i got there.. and looked around. val wasnt there! a few mins later, i see this black corolla with really familiar plates but with red ps.. and shes like 'you always look to the left.' and there she is.
anyhow, we were going to watch fool's gold but since we heard it was shit, we got tickets to jumper instead. the movie was average.. plotline needed a bit more developing and ends needed to be tied together tighter but hayden can be quite yummy i suppose. and there were these scenes in japan. and omg i was fully like jumping in my seat (ok, in my head i was jumping in my seat) 'i know where that is. ive walked along that path. we caught the train at that station!!!' =D
anyhow, val had to jet for dr du party setting up (you can imagine how.. important i feel to know that i was being ditched for dr du.) so i had to make do with going grocery shopping by myself. anyhow, got some ingredients for a baking afternoon.
todays menu:
- tiramisu
- creme brulee
- choc fudge cookies
the latter two were my maiden attempts and they turned out good! really good! i should take photos but well, haha i cbb atm and well, i think they'd all be gone by tomorrow. the tiramisu was a bit of a if-all-else-fails back-up and sort of for mum cause she likes it. eventho im still kinda mad at her...
the creme brulee is rich and creamy and smooth. and not too sweet. and the choc fudge cookies are like melt-in-your-mouth but chewy in the centre. theyre really sweet though (hence the name choc fudge cookies) and they were the only things i ate all day and had a really late dinner so obviously didnt feel too good but anyhow. im pretty happy with the outcome.
in fact, i think im happy enough to go take photos now =)

last note. my sister came home with a lovely black and gold goldfish today. he's adorable with a bit of white on his tail so it looks like it's been deliberately dyed. hence he's been dubbed (by her) and 'gangsta'. lol cute eh.

it must be something in the water. when you're bored, your mind wanders. and u go looking (literally) for trouble. its not fun.

i had a very very aimless long walk around the shopping centre today cause i was so bored and well, sitting at home's boring too. i bought a hat though. i know i know.. i dont wear hats.. but well, things change eh.
i stopped by the aquarium. and the guys like 'ur back already?' and im like 'yup...' and then tell him my sob story. hahahaha i think he was really surprised that a 3 year old killed a fish.
mum went into day surgery today. dropped her and dad off around midday. didnt pick them up until around 7.. now her arm's all bandaged up...

and oh my friggin god.
my godbro somehow managed to KILL one of the 3 (for luck haha) goldfish
by throwing in the net we had next to the tank
and apparently the net hit the fish and killed it !
friggin hell. thank goodness it wasn't my beloved 'fatty'

I AM LITERALLY CLOSE TO TEARS... does he have any idea how much time and love and care and money and effort i put into my fishies? does he?? i srly am beginning to get really annoyed by the kid. it's not the first thing he's killed/damaged/broken.
ANGRY.

looks like the new sm really is serious serious. more training. uniform crackdown. name badges!!! nooooo!!! at least i can say that i pumped 8 nursery cages over the weekend. and it looks like we're gonna get phones again!! yay!!! ive missed having my own phone. and i put my reception phone knowledge to use today =)
oh and for the weekend, marwah wrote me this page long letter/note about what to do and stuff. so i wrote back a one page reply on the back. my writing has changed over the break. its so.. animated cause i dont have to write fast.
i can literally peel layers of skin off my right arm. its really gross.
talked to donna tonight. glad she's coming back by the end of the week. =)

i havent had such an action packed day in so long that it felt refreshing.
this morning, i got up JIT to drive my sister to school since she had a free. so i dropped her off and headed to roselands for a bit of early morning shopping. only got a couple of things from priceline. then i had to go by hursty PO to pick up a parcel and then rush home and get to the station cause i was meeting mandy, sam and jen for lunch. the yum cha place next to the reading cinemas at marketct has been refurbished. now it looks more high class.. which means prices went up. haha
after lunch just sort of shopped around.. ended up at kinokuniya. there was this very neat lil japanese supermarket/bargain shop (whats called a 100 yen shop in japan except here it was $2.50 per item) and for a moment, it felt like i was in japan again!! they had heaps of authentic japanese imports. i was like.. im sooooo coming back. got some vanilla pocky and calpis (pronounced "cow piss") for my sister cause im so nice. i was half hoping that they would have sesame but maybe that was asking for a little bit too much. they did have coconut and the mousse ones so thumbs up to them.
went home and it was like as soon as i got home i got a call from work. and since i need the money and there are barely any shifts around, i said ok. and drama drama.. so much shit happens at work. i was in ladieswear tonight.. cause uh.. new SM sort of sent a girl home cause she was giving him attitude.. anyway. to make it short, there was a bit of tension going around.. and it evolved into a bit more than that.. and yeah. didnt end prettily. =X =X
on a lighter note (for me anyhow), sam and i was discussing martin today. and LOLOLOL i have so much dirt on him. cant wait till the weekend. HAHAHA

it looks all prim and proper now. i even changed the cannister filter. as usual, that task was a bitch. at least this time i didnt get water all over the floor.. only parts of it. gave the plants a trim and some of them a replant. the water was pretty cloudy for a while but it all turns out good in the end. added a bit of flourish and purifier. i had been getting lazy and all this crap was building up on the tank. so i scrubbed the glass too.
then i went to the aquarium and bought 4 lovely platys. two sunsets and two reds. theyre so pretty. need the colour too.
oh and did i mention i found two tetras in the filter. i was like.. u dumbos.. now if i decided not to clean the tank, u would be dead. oh and i was very very surprised to see a baby guppy in the community tank. it probably wont live very long (it will either be eaten by the bigger fish or be sucked into the filter) but i only have like 2 females in there and i did not expect them to have babies in this tank. at all.. so yeaaaaaaaaah. a wee bit stunned.

again spent this arvo in mens and footwear. luckily for me it was a very very quiet afternoon. so i spent a lot of it talking to monica or chu. haha until edy told us to shut up and made monica and i do a shoe cage. painful!!! but it was gd cause no other manager was here... so they werent behind our backs constantly.
there was this lady who was looking for ugg boots today. and i looked and her and i was like 'i rememeber you! u work at the airport!' and shes like.. 'oh yeah. i probably checked u in somewhere'. and im like yeah, we went to japan last yr and u were helping us get onto the jetstar flight and ur a colleague of my dads blah blah. i see so many connections to qantas at target. so much so that i work with one the wife of one of dads coworkers. shes a pain in the backside who doesnt shut up if i may say so. and im not the only one who shares that opinion. thank goodness she only stands at the door and doesnt work on the floor.
oh and before work i was like i'll duck into myer and see wat they have. i ended up getting pjs for my sister from BnT (how could i not, it had monkey written all over it. literally), hoodie and clutch from jeans west and a top (it says sleepwear but u cant really tell...) from target cause it was 3 bucks.

you definetely eat more at the that time of the month. i feel like ive been eating all day and i dont feel full. mind you, i didnt really have any proper meals.. maybe thats why. hmmmmmmmmm... chocolate and fruit and ice cream dont make a good diet...
now i have to think about working it all off. *sigh*

so typical sunday turns out almost like any other. i wasnt supposed to be working and there were a few swaps around the departments. but anyhow, it was towards 3 in the arvo that i was called to the registers. and as soon as i saw the customer, i knew it was trouble. before chris could even tell me whats wrong the customers was like 'this is 25% off' and im like no. and hes like 'no?! come, i show you.'. so he takes me back to girls 1-6. points at the sign. 'see here. 25% off'. yes sir, the sign says 25% off kids denim. you've got a knitted top here. 'you can't read english? this says 25% off'. offensive racist prick. so i show him what denim is. 'its 25% off denim. you know, like jeans.' he storms off back to the registers and yelling at me about how he should get the discount. low and behold 10 seconds later, my manager is paged to the registers. she tries to deal with him. apparently, she wasnt high enough, he wanted the store manager. and marwah was fuming and she paged paul to the registers and she stops him in kidswear and says to him 'dont even authorise the sale cause he's been abusing the guys at the registers for 20 minutes and hes been complaining about everything from the toaster in homewares to kids clothing.' so they go to the registers and the guys like 'you're just a supervisor, i want to talk to the store manager.' and pauls like 'i AM the store manager'. rofl rofl.. anyhow wasnt there to see the rest but i imagine there was some yelling and so on and so forth. apparently the guy asked for names of all of us. and our managers were just like nope, youre not getting them. no way.
hahahahahhahahahahaa we win!
on a lighter note, we got the ugliest, scariest "faces" or "heads" for our mannekins today. totally hilarious

there were so many people we were standing outside the chapel. but it was a very niec celebration of life. even ms knotts speech was in good taste - not a common occurrence if one can remember her speeches during all those years of school. ms aspin also said a few words. had to leave early cause of work. it was quite a long ceremony and the end when i left, it was more about her family and daughters. her husband michael was also speaking. it was so sad yet sweet. their story is like a high school romance from sweethearts to soulmates with best friends and everything =( recognised quite a few ex students, years above and below. saw farah and jasmeen and anne maree from our yr.. there were prolly othes. a lot of teachers were there. all the head teachers, deputies, school capt n a few of the prefects. definietely will miss her...

the weather cleared up from wet this morning to a nice mild temperature with some sunshine. and now i am burnt on one arm but not really the other. i hate weird tanlines!!
the rach and val and i had to do the cooking cause a certain someone couldnt. he only knew how to mingle with people younger than his age. lol even his friends william and bernard (?) .. the one with the hot subwoofer, came and joined us. hahaha
had quite a bit of food.. but we pretty much forced them to finish most of it which was good. only had a few chicken wings and prawns left.
we cleaned the hotplate pretty well. felt kind of primitive cause we had to get water in containers and bring it back to our cooking area. lol
climbing trees and throwing ice was a couple of other highlights.
was supposed to go out tonight but ive had too many big fridays and im not really up for it, especially with a funeral tomorrow morn.
we had so many overly ripe bananas that i made some banana bread when i came home. i was so.. pumped and psyched.

is an enlightening experience. and by shopping i meant groceries for his bbq.
and now im stuck with the marindating, etc. nah, it srly okay with it. as long as he cooks it =D
anyway, in the beginning he was like.. omg.. r u sure we got enough? only one loaf of bread? tats like one slice each.. i think we need more. and the ribs.. he went crazy there. and the sausages.. and chicken wings.. actually pretty much everything. hahahaha but its so funny. but hey, my estimate of the cost was spot on!! (okay, so ive catered before... so? =P)
hope the weather turns out good. no sun is ok. really windy not so much. but please, no rain!
we ended up getting quite a bit though..
ribs, chicken wings, prawns, sausages, bread, chips, lollies, heaps of sauces, heaps of coke and sprite, juice, serviettes, paper towels and a whole bunch of otherstuff he still needs to get.
for the record, theres no steak and no lamb. oh wells. lol

i feel like im waiting for so many things. waiting for things to finish. waiting for details. waiting for another day. waiting for someone. waiting for something. and everything in between. the feelin kind of makes me uneasy because i can't rely on myself and that makes me insecure.
i rock up to nightfill to be told its been cancelled and im like wtf. but muriell was like u can stay cause theres heaps of stuff out the back. the new store manager is really really giving everyone the shits. hes cancelled all of nightfill and using all the young people cause its "cheaper". absolutely full of crap. so im pretty sure we're all now just going to do the shift and not give a damn about spending a minute longer in the hole. and im already really pissed that my sundays been taken. and now im down to two shifts. feel like punching his ugly head.
sometime soon im gonna pour my heart out..

lowenbrau is a pretty nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. packed place with traditional german/bavarian music and singing and dancing. and the waiters and waitresses are dressed to complement the theme. and theres yoddling, etc. they had all the songs from the sound of music!! anyway, so thats where we had dinner on friday night. mango beer is interesting. it wasnt so bad but well, im not really a beer fan i guess. some of the boys were drinking the stuff by the litre. no joke. the steak was really good though. the restaurant is definetely looks bigger on the inside. really taven like which was nice.
we decided to stick at the place and went upstairs to the bar afterwards until round 1. some people left pretty early so by the end it was only the usual crowd and a couple of chu's uni frends (one who, according to jan tried to feel her up but she was a bit tipsy). jan also pushed me off my barstool (she tried to steal my seat!) and made me spill my vodka and cranberry over chu. lol oops. i dont think he'll remember though. at least i hope not. hahahahahaha it was jans fault!!!
we sat out in the rain for a little bit until we decided to head to the casino. roulette is fun. blackjack not so much. that night anyway. haha was a bit lucky and made 'enough for the cab home'. steph made $78 from the pokies. fun fun. star city is so much bigger than conrad jupiters. although conrad jupiter has a nicer uniform.

juzzy and i spoil my sister. she even said so herself. he drove her to and back from tutoring yesterday and it was my turn today. and all cause there were no trains. and strathfield plaza is soo so so crap. its worse than rockdale!! haha but all i wanted to do was get a few things from priceline so that was okay.
we went by maccas on the way home. large big mac meal, apple pie and cone (obviously i wasnt the one eating most of it). good times
and it was awfully cold today. and we were in three near-miss accidents. people who cut lanes out of no where are a danger hazard. omfg.. especially when theres this stupid asian woman driving on the pedestrian island (wat r those things called?) trying to turn right. argh!!!!!

had quite a bit of bad news this week. a few of you might have already heard of the sad passing of ms garrad on wednesday evening. although we were told to expect grim news, it still came as a bit of a shock and still a little sad and upset over it. she was really one of the best teachers you could ever get in your senior year.
my mums been having neck/back pain for a while now and shes had multiple x-rays. the doctor finally found out what was wrong. she has scoliosis and will probably need surgery. my sister also went to have an examination and apparently she has some mild degree of it too. so i think i need to go to the doctors soon. and my second vaccination for cervical cancer is coming up in the next couple of weeks.

LEE Garrad and Anthony Leonardos held a small, private affirmation ceremony last week which marked their intention to marry later this year.


By all accounts it was a joyful day, but the occasion was a bittersweet one for the Gymea family as Lee's mother Linda made a special trip from St George Hospital.


Linda Garrad, a history teacher at St George Girl's High School who had taught in the area for 35 years, was diagnosed in March 2006 with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of cancer.


After chemotherapy and surgery she was given the all clear in 2007, but was hospitalised again when the cancer reappeared.


Mrs Garrad's husband Michael said Lee and Anthony had planned a wedding in October, then moved it forward to March this year as a result of the new diagnosis.


"Recently the doctors revised their opinion," he said.


"They said Lee should have her wedding as soon as possible."


The family, knowing Mrs Garrad's desire to see Lee in her wedding dress and to be part of such a special day, sprang into action.


They enlisted the support of businesses throughout Sutherland and put together an affirmation ceremony, almost a pre-wedding wedding, in a little over a week.


"The support we had was just amazing, from hairdressers to cake makers to the people who helped us clean up the yard and get the house ready," Mr Garrad said.


"It was fantastic. It meant so much to Linda to be a part of the day and we couldn't have done it without the help we had locally."


With the Garrads' two other daughters, Jody and Alexandra, their partners Chris Bourquin and Christopher Russell and a select group of family and friends present, Mrs Garrad was able to attend the ceremony. To cap off an emotional day, Jody's boyfriend Chris proposed after Lee and Anthony's ceremony.


She happily accepted.


"It was a fantastic day," Mr Garrad said. "It was very emotional and quite romantic."

caught the earlier session instead of the arvo one which turned out to work really well. val wanted to watch the earlier session and i had a call from work asking me to come in earlier so it was perfect! and the fact that there was only like 5 people in the whole entire cinema was kind of funny but its way better cause theres less background noise, etc. watching movies during the day is sort of unusual though cause its normally all the elderly people who watch movies at this time.
the movie itself was a bit of a letdown for me. it was kind of slow and although the cinematography and the scenes were beautiful, it was just lacking style. and i guess the way the movie was visualised and how the legend was portrayed wasn't what i expected it to be. plus character development was kind of lacking too. it just doesnt compare to the more reknowned producers of the golden compass or pixar etc.
anyhow we went to the good kitchen for lunch. and then fully jaywalked to get some meds for val whos been having allergies. then i had to go to work. so much gossip goes around =D
and again, i fully claim that girls 1-6 is mine mine mine. the whole department was relayed by me and it looks FAB!!! i moved clearance to one side and fixed the wall and made two mini stories and i'm happy with it. although i'd like to change the wall again soon.

okay granted that i dont normally shop at payless shoes but i was bored and i was like what the heck, why not. and apparently they were having a summer clearance where if u buy two or more pairs of shoes, u get all of them for half price. and there was this nice pair of black heels i wanted for $29 and im thinking.. wtf? they have shoes for $9 a pair.. if i bought them and didnt even wear them, i'd be getting a better deal. so i ended up with two pairs of black heels and a pair of kind of cute white peep toe flats. cute but not the most comfortable shoes in the world.
and i also got a pair of black work flats at portmans for 10 bucks. so yeah.. its true what they say. u find the things you're looking for when youre not looking for them at all.
i hate msn cause u cant tell when someones being serious or not. =(

so janice asks this morning wat im doing and im like. prolly just hit the gym and see how things go from there. and shes like oh okay, im coming too! and im like.. okay if u want, meet u there. and she rocks up after ive been there an hour and we go for a bit of a swim and steamroom time. ended up at the gym n pool today for about 2 and half hours. but it was worth it. havent been to the pool side for so long and felt so good.. during and afterwards.
and we had this talk about all this stuff.. work and people and people and people (if u get my drift..). found out a lot of things and i have something to blackmail her with. hahahaha that was funny. she was like screaming at me in the middle of the pool to keep it to myself and im like.. awww but cant i even tell one person? and we all know that when u tell one person at work, within the next 24 hours, the whole store knows. =D =D =D
we went to hurstville for lunch and of course visited target peeps. oh and did i mention i missed two calls from target earlier (accidently of course but jan made sure i didnt call them back. rofl.) and we missed wayne by like 20 minutes. like NOOOO!!!! i wanted a hug from him!!! but laura was working so said hi to her and some of the parttimers. the nice ones that is.
anyhow, the day was so spontaneous that i ate sushi (shock horror!!), and an apple pie (What was she thinking??) and bought a $15 dress from esq (i dont normally shop there..). and tried on another two at sheike. one was too big and the other looked really good front on but made me have a massive ass and hips side on. hahahaha
i am now looking for black heels to match my new dress. =)
and enough of the rain already. lol

it was a pretty ordinary day except that sara called from miranda to chat. ROFL tat was funny. and nadia came in to visit. and rach and her brother too =) so that was enlightening. yay
loving the rain. especially this morning when it was really heavy and woke up to it. =D but finding parking is hard when it rains and u want undercover parking. hahaha but i still got a spot.

ive pretty much let this summer fly by without doing anything important or productive. there hasnt been anything outstanding to say that ive accomplished something and sometimes i feel like its a bit of a waste. especially since its now february. so last night i finally go around to crossing off updating my resume on my list of things to do. and i realised that the last time i wrote anything remotely similar was almost 2 years ago. that was a bit of a backhander. it just goes to show how lazy ive been with things.
