I'm not a topic blogger or an event blogger. But every now and then I will write about something that may be lingering on my mind. A hot topic of conversation; or just my views. Just because. This is my blog. And it's my space. And it's my outlet. Read at your own peril. I'm not asking for your opinion nor am I expecting you to have one. I respect yours and I hope you respect mine. And I do respect everyone's opinion, even if I may disagree.
So the idea of House Husbands (the man in the relationship who stays home to do the "housework" or "raise the kids") has come up recently, time and time again.
There's a gazillion logical reasons why this may happen with the main one being:
But in my opinion, the issue lies in that once a man becomes a house husband, they have no intention of returning to full time work. And my opinion is completely derived from real-life examples close to me. That is a sign of laziness and I guess I'm not really accepting of the a situation where the woman would become the primary breadwinner because its "too difficult" to return to the workplace. It shows a lack of ambition and that the idea of leeching off another person is okay.
My second reason is that I find if one doesn't stay within sight of a professional environment then your communication skills, your etiquette and general interaction with other human beings suffer. You might not be able to carry on a comprehensive discussion. You get stuck in your own bubble and the world drifts further apart. The workplace is somewhere that keeps you grounded and informed of the happenings in our society, somewhere to keep you swimming so that you're not in over your head at the next friends gathering or social catch up... They kind of become despondent and selfish?
And the third reason, albeit not a strong one is that I don't see 'housework' as a full time job. It's something you do on the side. A bit of washing on a monday night, some vacuuming on the weekend and the dishes every other day. There simply isn't enough house work for it to be a full time role. So why can't both people in the relationship work? Regardless of who earns more.
I'm still trying to figure this out myself. I'm not in a relationship so I will be the first to admit that there may be many things that I don't understand. There's also always the reason that sometimes its better off for one parent to stay home to raise the kids, to spend more time with them than to employ a full time nanny........

The woman earns more hence it makes sense for her to continue working full time.I'm not opposed to the fact that in today's society, it is very socially acceptable and even predictable that a woman earns more than a man. Not issue with it at all.
