where'd the weekend go?!
Lovely lovely saturday.
a mini stgghs reunion at bicentennial park for mandy's birthday. lots of sun and not too much wind although it did get fresh as the afternoon went by.
highlights:
- taking 2 hours to get the hot coals going to cook the food
- donna and i hiking around the grass and finding no waterhole
- not being allowed to go to the bathroom because cake time was in 5 minutes... turned out to be in 20
- wanting to roll down the grassy hill
- parking mine and cherry's car in one and a half spaces. completely boxed myself in!
- really bad coffee from the cafe
- seeing green and not recognising nature...
- being epicly asian and squatting, washing our hands with spring water, scrubbing the bbq with leaves ?!
after we said goodbye, donna and i had planned to go out for dinner. cherry and vivian decided to join so it became a 3-car tag into the city. i am an awesome anchor driver (not my usual place and i'm usually the one in front!)
apparently had my bitchface on. so donna said as she looked at me in the rear view mirror.
anyway, did the two a massive favour since traffic was pretty heavy and me having the balls to cut lanes and let them through and stop all the cars behind us. hahahahaha female asian drivers FTW! (although i still stand by the fact that i am not that much of an asian driver)
we ended up at surry hills:
- cocktails and pork belly meat balls at Mr. Fox. yummmmmmmy and they gave us free popcorn so we stayed a little longer (ok, i lie, we just stayed).
- took some fail instax [cherry]
- and then cherry left
- visited the new kurtosh which is famous for a hungarian style chimney cake. really really good coffee. and they sell their slabs of cakes by weight. interesting concept and i loved the ambience. i even took photos because i want my cafe to one day be similar to this!!!
- stayed there until donna had to go pick up her dad
- came home, was pretty tired...
we decided to plan more events as some will see from fb! good times coming up. <3 p="p">
i made choc chip cookies today. zero effort.
and then procrastinated the rest of my afternoon away thinking about business cards and website designs. wish it was just all done for me...
and then sister got me addicted to the show Cake Boss.
where/when am i supposed to find the time to study?!3>

started out as a pretty well planned day which turned random but epicly awesome.
mandy's little get together for her birthday at bicentennial park today followed by randon 3 car tag along to surry hills for cocktails, meatballs and kurtosh.
will post details after i get some shut eye.
so much to plan for the upcoming months!
have not done this in a while.
and i think i kind of know how the masterchef contestants feel.
DEAD ON THEIR FEET!
4 batches macarons
2 batches melting moments
4 batches anzacs
1 tray caramel slice
1 tray brownies
1 bomb alaska
plus toppings, ganache and icing
i am so tired but kind of fulfilled.
thanks to my apprentices today: justin, carmen and wendie.
of course, this epic baking had a purpose: justin and his church are raising money for a whole heap of reasons such as children living in poverty.
hope his work raises heaps of money.
and hope i can get lots of rest tonight!
and thanks for brekkie, it was awesome :)
we also overtired my sunbeam. guess what that means???
IT'S TIME FOR A KITCHENAID!!! WHOOP~~~

today i met up with my two favourite girls from work.
so happy to see them but a bit of a bittersweet moment since both no longer work with me. so excited to see erin back from her trip and doing okay after everything that's happened to her.
i still believe she was hard done by. and no matter who tells me otherwise, i won't believe it for a second. i understand that there's lot of politics going on but there are better ways of doing things. As said by those higher up.
it seems a bit like people are being pitched against another but i think you choose every step in the game so if one really wanted to, one can make a difference...
anyhow, i am pretty sure i wasn't the one needed reassuring but i got pulled into a meeting room anyway. again. really? its not like i am going to say what was said to me in confidence. try all you like.
if its ego-stroking you are looking for, you came to the wrong person!!!

last three batches of macarons failed
first two, overbeat the whites
third batch, too much egg white.
i am beginning to think that my passionfruit ganache is just cursed. have yet to make a perfect macaron with this filling...
*dejected*

Windy day but i think it turned out okay :-)
Congrats to the lovely couple...
Morning ceremony at Curzon Hall, Garden Chateau. Excellent effort by the bridemaids and bride to brave the weather and not faint from the cold!!! It was a small intimate ceremony. I have to say that this string quartet was better than the one at my cousins back in the day!
Evening reception at the lovely and very expensive Park Hyatt.
Our table was a bit of mix of uni and high school (val and xin and I). pretty much the conversations revolved around how you met carl, where you work now and the pros and cons about working as a graduate for the big 4.......
although some uncanny connections... the girl worked at kpmg, was the audited for GE... in my division, when i was there!! I fully know all the people she was speaking about. then these other two people also worked at nab house... and another girl's boyfriend works in it security... and i now work in it recruitment... he's like.. i'm going home to do up my cv pronto! lol
anyways, it was a good night.
some good games going on.
lovely to my evening with great company too... my val's back!!! xxx

I'm not sure what was wrong with me today. But it felt a bit along the lines of the whole world is against me (well, not the world, but WORK) and it was a downhill sob story from there... Not in a good place at the moment.
I think maybe on another tangent, I knew shit was about to hit the fan.
And it has begun.
Something just didn't feel right today and I pretty much took it out on my fearless leader . . . and he probably put it down to PMS. It wasn't!!! I just felt really unhappy at work today. Something along the lines of working too much and not getting the recognition that is deserved. And that pretty much put me in a bad mindset for the rest of the day. I even told him straight out this morning, please don't talk to me because I don't want to talk to you.
He did make me laugh though:
I called Bobert at lunch time for a chat. And he was like 'you sound so unhappy and not your bright bubbly self'. Yep... I couldn't even pretend. Not that I could say much whilst at work. :-(
Anyway, the melbourne boys made it a little more bearable, especially when Dee called to say thanks for picking up an extra 2% on his placement and he's buttering me up saying he did it on purpose, it was a test etc etc and I'm speaking to him on the phone and i'm like yup yup uh huh....... *goes silent*
*reads the email that just pops up from Matt (GM in Melb)*
and Dee's like
*Melbourne office in the background roaring with laughter*
And things get worse...
I knew something was up as soon as the two people I sit next to start whispering and having closed door conversations. (I have a knack for sussing this kind of stuff out... its like that feeling). Turns out they have decided to let go of my one other close friend in the office... because there 'just isn't enough work'.
The poor girl was supposed to come back from work on Monday after a holiday and now she has nothing to come back to... pretty upsetting. Especially when they are keeping the temp on indefinitely. Life is so unfair sometimes and its when things like this happens that makes me not want to be at work. Just because the business isn't doing as well as it was one year ago ... I just don't understand how we can spend so much of our resources on the Sales side and so little reward and recognition on back office. . . . . And I'm sceptical of what's going on, how things are going to pan out and why some people seem to be above the rules.
I don't even feel like I can trust Nick at the moment. And that is a massive issue.
