I've got so much to say that I can't put it into words and so, I've been staring at this blank page for the last few minutes.

I don't know why I waste so much time thinking of others. Others who are so not worth my time but my mind is reeling. Just blatantly stupid people who want to reap the rewards of high profile roles without actually doing the work. And admitting to it too. And so... how do you plan on getting there?

I can't believe I sat through an hour with her. One on one. To discuss the new role. Or more like her trying to dictate to me. Nice try. I know how to read between the lines. And take everything with a pinch of salt.

How can you day you are 5/5 comfortable with doing something yet you have zero interest in doing it? What an oxymoron is there ever was one. Honestly where does she think so gets off?

I can't wait till my new boss is back from leave. We are going to have to iron a lot of things out.

I also missed our coffee window with my work hubby. And I really needed it today too. Need his consoling. :( And to tell me I'm being stupid. At least I can turn to my finance buddies.

It's that feeling again. Where for a few nights (like...2) this week I have had nothing to do. Nothing to watch. No work to catch up on. No admin. No paperwork. No friends...

And I think to myself... wouldn't it be fun to do another course? Or a degree? Or something more useful with my time rather than just waiting for bedtime (or so it feels like)? Isn't a goal in like to absorb as much knowledge as you can? The last time this happened, I was looking at the Sydney Universities and looking up a Masters in Law. And I had even checked when the next enrollments would be and what was required. . .

Let's hope this is another phase. Like the electric piano one. Lol.

Not getting out of my jammies!! And Scones with clotted cream and Bitton jam for brekkie? Yes please! But only as a one off... Decided to work from home today. I wasn't about to brave the weather for a third day in a row and I'm glad I have the option to stay at home. And I'm happy to say that I don't abuse the system.

We had a lovely afternoon yesterday at Rockpool B&G for the quarterly lunch. Wow, some of the guys sure can pick a noice nice wine. I shudder to think how much was spent. But the food was delish. I think I liked the sides more than my steak but that was down to personal choice so... no one to blame but myself!

I did pick the cocktails for everyone. Winner!!!! Tried to stick around as late as we could to try and avoid the storm but I think it just got worse with time so... we tried to brave it around 6. I headed home.. lucky trains were still running. Went to sleep at 8 (hahaha what an old nanny!!!) and got up at 6 and was so undecided on whether or not I was going to trek it in and then... torrential rain. Nope... not going to even bother. So those hunter boots I bought earlier this year... still unworn!

Not sure how it happened but the other 2 ladies in my team managed to both have a week off this past week. And boy, was I hammered or was I hammered? Working late, taking work home and for a quiet period, working on the weekend... a lot. :-(

It helps to have the day broken up or extended. Such as a super quick Tuesday wine with Sarah. Just to check up on her and make sure she's doing ok. A lot's been going on in her life these past two months and thought some baked goods wouldn't go awry.

Then we had a little celebration for Donna's whopping (I kid) 27th birthday. Belly bao,.. amazing A-MAZING fried chicken and yummy cocktails. I personally did not taste any alcohol. We were discussing engagement rings... funny right? I even managed to fit in an overdue grocery shop after this event.

Attended a funeral on Friday. Always the emotional one... think I cry more with age? I haven't been to very many of these (and one who hope that you don't at this age) but it was a lady who was pretty much my mum's mom-away-from-home. But some of the stuff that happened during and after the service.... you'd think you only see it happen in movies / soapies / tv. Still trying to figure out why.

I was always pretty drained by Friday afternoon but there was so much more work to do. And baking... not sure what happened. The last couple of days have been a bit of a blur.

If I wasn't on my laptop I was in the kitchen and I think last night, was up until about 1 a.m. reviewing quotes. Reminds me of uni days and cramming. Haha! But I get paid for it now...

Dropped off a cake to Randwick.. literally around the corner from UNSW. Ahh nostalgia. I also wished I lived in the area. Needs RICH HUBBY AND HIGH PAYING JOB!!! Finally have a little time to ... unwind. That sounds so good.

Our boss is away this week. So his boss flew all the way from Singapore to babysit us! Jokes... I think it was just timing. No Krug this time although I do like Mark's honesty when he's around. Much respect for the man. Doesn't play the hardcore political game (at least not to your face).

It's been a busy 4 day week with Thursday and Friday being unusually busy! But I did manage to squeeze in a boozy lunch with our illustrious new CFO and my fav legal person at the Greens (owned by the same people who did the Grounds). And then the afternoon was shoe shopping! A bit of a team building / downtime for the ladies in the team.

I think we embarrassed ourselves in Christian Louboutin. Ha ha ha with one colleague saying 'We need to find the UGLIEST shoes in the store!' *cringe* But it was for a competition at work. And good fun.

Cocktails at Zeta Bar was awesome too.. just sitting there for a few hours and sipping cocktails. I'm there! The Singapore Mule was delicious and spicy and the same time. We had enough time to discuss non-work and work related topics. And how important development is. I totally agree... the aim is UP!

In many ways, it is a "wasted" long weekend for me. No big plans, no plans to visit the Easter Show, or Road Trip or Get together. Mainly because of the busy Good Friday and Saturday with baking and 3 pretty big orders to fulfil. But now that they are all done, I feel like its nap time and I just can't bring myself to organise or do anything else. Isn't that just poor form?

I had a wonderful nap yesterday and I kind of wish I had a huge garden with beautiful flowers and a hammock between two giant trees. But who would take care of said garden for me? Where would this place be?

Anyways, I was kind of thinking of the cakes that I'd made. Most of these were via referrals so I knew someone who the customer also know - a mutual friend. Small worlds. I was thinking about the Thomas cake I made in particular as I'd also done the Christening cake for her little boy when he was just a baby. That was about 3 years ago. Time flies and I've come a long way since then. I was also thinking of April Fool's Day where one of my friends as an April Fool's joke had said she was pregnant. And I was just thinking that her first son is turning 7 this year. 7! It made me think of Target (also because a huge chapter has closed for another friend of mine in relation to this) and 7 years ago, I was still working at target. Look at where I am now. . . it kind of puts things in perspective. Just yesterday, I was thinking about what I had done with my life (along the lines of "not much").

7 years is a long time. What will the next 7 bring? Apparently 28 is the best year of your 20s so I still have some time ;)

Happy Easter everyone. Even if you aren't religious (shoots hand up), it's a great time for reflection. and rest And for eating Chocolate Eggs.

Been spending small amounts of time this past week after dinner in front of the telly with the fambam. And most nights, MKR was on. And in one of the elimination challenges, they made what they called Bomboloni - a kind of Italian donut. Their recipe had ricotta which made them more zeppole but no one on the show bothered to correct the girls.

So out of interest, I wanted to make Bomboloni one night since we have so many people over for dinner and so wouldn't go to waist or waste. I found a recipe and they were delicious! Sugar coated, lemony balls of dough, puffed and fried. Yes, Churros are way easier but these are delicious in their own little way especially when they're still hot. Crispy coating, sugar melting and pillowy soft on the inside. It can be a pretty good comfort food. Will have to add this one of to the list of dinner party items.

Makes me dream of having my own house, with my own kitchen and outdoor entertaining area. Then I remember the cost of living and housing and how unattainable it can all be. Work play... eat!
