Country 3: Italy// Florence

One of my most favourite places of our
trip! Pretty, rustic, charming, affordale,
moderate. Easy access, lots of sights to see, nice market place and
GREAT shopping.
Our hotel was pretty cool too! It was a
quadroom but sort of split with a mezzanine level that opened out to a shared
balcony. Would have been lovely for summer sipping a beer, or coffee. And the bathroom
was huge was a jacuzzi.
Markets were in full swing for Valentine's
day and we had the besttttt chocolate dipped strawberries ever. So good. Un-shareable.
So were the coffees. And gelato. And it was like ONE EURO for a cappuccino!!
Amazing!
A cute little story about Florence, there
is a bridge that couples walk across (together of course) and they put their
initials on a lock and then secure it on the bridge. It is supposed to signify
that they will be together forever (if the lock is unbreakable/ unlockable!).
In hindsight, and cynically, one could see it as being chained for life... lol.
I am pretty sure it was here that we began
to realise that we needed more space in our luggage. Haha, a bit overboard with
the shopping! And here that we also noticed that there were policemen around
pretty much every tourist corner. Pickpockets beware!
Also had them most expensive but yummy hot chocolate
here one night. And a really good house red wine. Must come back!
