Country 2: Switzerland// Geneva

Geneva in two words? HUGE letdown.
Why? Because the wind chill was next to unbearable. The city was quite seedy (or
where we stayed). Shops close quite early. The Jet d'Eau was closed.
What did we see then? The United
Nations, the Broken Chair, Cern and the big scientific dome (where the big bang
was recreated), froze our ass off some more waiting for trams.
And had the best ever churros - hot, fresh and loaded with icing sugar and
cinnamon for 5 francs. Hands down the best purchase of our short stay in lil
Geneve. And great hotel to RnR although it had one of the smallest lifts (it
fit 2 people and 2 suitcases!). Comfy bed, hot shower and sis and I used the
window and the air outside as our freezer to keep our Movenpick ice cream
frozen! G E N I U S !!!
I guess the main point of Geneva was to
use it as a stop between Switzerland and Italy. Since we wanted to go on the Golden Pass Train Journey, it was the
best way to get to Italy via Geneva/Switzerland.
The Golden Pass (and seems like a lot of other long distance train routes) in Switzerland are MUST SEES. It is so beautiful and you get the full view - alps to your left and right, numerous ski fields and resorts and nature everywhere you turn. Mesmerizing. My parents loved it.
