I went for a fourth interview at Aon today. I didn't actually expect a call back considering I had said that I already had a job offer (did not mention that i had already signed a contract). Again though, glad i did. Was expecting a call back this afternoon. Hasn't happened yet.

I am also now going to add 'Recruiter' to my resume! No kidding, its a tough job. We put an ad up for a junior level version of me (so potentially a grad). Within the first hour, my director had received over 100 applications. W T F.

And they were all useless. Not one was outstanding. I phoned about 10 today and...

I couldn't understand them.
They were either Chinese or from another country.
They are all doing some Masters of Accounting in a second-rate University.
They don't have pure accounting experience.
They don't have a CA/CPA yet they are studying for a masters.
They don't have the eloquence needed for a refined resume.
They all say they have advanced excel skills. WTF WTF WTF. Even I don't have that in my resume!!!

And another funny thing that happened today was this guy that was previously my recruiter (when i was an AA) called me up to ask if we needed help with the recruitment process! Knew that I was moving on and that Nick had moved on also. I was like.. how do you know that? Small world. People talk. I knew it from the beginning. Glad i got out.

And there goes my friday.

It's going to be a new chapter for the history books on Monday. New finance team pretty much. I'm so happy ive 5 days left. I haven't figured how much it wears me down until now.

No one wants to brunch with me tomorrows so wendie said she'll cook me brunch instead. mmmm poached eggs, spinach and mushrooms.

foodie week.

kicked off with ultimate skyfail. read here... mumbrella: skyfail @ event cinemas

had dinner at miss chu tuck shop which is in the same building as chef's gallery. but downstairs. then got gloria jeans and cha time in preparation for skyfall.

it was supposed to be good. full cinema, good atmosphere, supposedly awesome movie.

randomly discussing relationships, game theory and matrices (all interrelated topics of course...).

and movie starts. and about an hour in... it all goes downhill. W T F !!!

but hey, we smart girls - so we got our free movie voucher, but we WANTED TO SEE THE END OF SKYFALL. so we snuck into vmax. and probably watched the first hour or so again.

which meant it was late when we finished. so we were like embarassing ourselves running through the cinemas and down the stairs (maybe a bit like cinderella if you want to be poetic) to make it to our respective bus, bus, bus or train.

and i WIN!!! even though i live the second furthest from the city. express train trumps buses!!!

today...

met two of my favourite contractors. was gooooooooood meeting. very easy going and laid back. of course, i'm their fav person at my company ;)

then randomly bumped into jan after work. so we went froyo.

then i went to bevo to catch up to catherine and hear about her americas trip and what to do and what not to do. and tab was randomly on the table behind us.

food was awesome. mushrooms and haloumi, ink spaghetti with crab and fresh chilli and mediocre tiramisu. but such good value even though couldn't use entertainment card with weekday special. but still really really good for a local restaurant!

now need to catch up on some zzzzz time!

Kind of funny that everytime Nick has called me whilst overseas today and last week, I have never picked up the phone directly on my line. It has always been transferred back to me.

Initially, I said to him, do you even know my direct number? Because the second time, he called his own number - sneaky!!

And cause I was always also on the phone, it went to overflow.

Which let him to ask if I was screening my calls. Lol.

Yes, if only ... ? Would rather take a call from him that a lot of others!

All 4 times, it was because I was really busy and sorting out issues with other people!!! hahaha we should prob stick to Whatsapp. I always respond readily there!

i was literally strolling, yes s-t-r-o-l-l-i-n-g into work this morning. like expected to wait for the lift cause i could see people in front of me so i took my time... wasn't in a hurry... and i get to the bank of lifts and this guy's like holding the door open for me. i was like.. aw... that's such a nice gesture. *beams* so random yet so lovely.

and i was still the first of my bank of desks to get to work. something occurring more often these days. hm, actually, i think i arrive first most days.

anyhoo, another funny thing.. and this happened as i was on the phone to this new contractor. cause i thought she didnt submit her super forms. so she called me and was like... yeah i am pretty sure i posted them back to you...

so i put her on hold and i ask the girls and kel's like

"yeah, i binned them forms ages ago because they weren't signed. here i'll show you" and she diggs it out of the bin, ripped and all. and low and behold...

the first two are blank... and the third, on the back was signed!!

HAHAHAHA omg we all cracked up sooooo bad and i had to talk to the poor girl who was on the phone and make up some lame ass excuse. lololol. gold!!!

and i had the loveliest lunch hour with anna yesterday. we sat in the sun at hyde park. bliss!!! if only for one hour of one very epic day! :)

where the batteries to my mouse just died. and i replaced them. . . only to find that the mouse still wasn't working. so assumed that the mouse was broken and went to great lengths to try and fix this and almost was going to steal my sister's one.

and then... for some reason, decided to take out the batteries and put in again.

and what do you know. i put them in the wrong way.

doh!!!!!!

sister is trying to borrow my belongings yet AGAIN. so after some continued arguing, i said she could if it was put back on my dresser... TONIGHT. so i can use it tomorrow morning.

mum intervenes:

M: "why don't you get your own?"
W: "why buy another one when there is already one in the house?"
M: "well, why did i bother having a second daughter when i already have one?"

weirdest thing happened today. it literally stopped my bank of desks in the middle of what they were doing.

im on the phone with a contractor who missed payroll. and i was like.. no sorry, you missed the deadline i can't pay you.

and he said to me. i'll pay you $50 can you push it through for me. you guys have done it before. and i repeated what he said so the others could hear and everyone was like...

WTF????????????

hahahahahhahaa i was so stumped for like a whole minute and then had to bs my way out...

anyhoo, the cake is coming along.

when you break things up, it seems manageable!

hahaha donna called this morning (laughing the whole time) just to tell me that bob is the troublemaker. it was hilarious cause he was yelling in the background.

lots of problems with service today. tsk tsk.

started off the day pretty slow... felt a bit down. and i think a couple of ppl picked up on that on the phone.

but bob, he's so lovely. even got his boss to speak to me =D and he usually growls. but heheh said some really nice things which made me smile =) and then he told bob to stop sending me so much to do. HAHAHAHA!!!

then it got better. good ol' SV tried to get me in trouble... for something i didnt do!!! YAY!!! back in ur face!

then spoke extensively some more with a couple of clients. its so nice to not talk about work sometimes. felt pretty good by the end of the day... despite all of our dramas!

im beginning to hate weekends. they go by too quickly.

friday night. GE@ strike bowling! drinks, cocktails, bowling, fun fun fun. got a strike and a spare. can't complain. lots of wine and laughs and getting to know ppl. somehow.. we stayed until almost midnight.. lonnnnnnng after the game was over. and we were walking up and down king street wharf yelling

hehehehehe. i *think* the boys ended up going somewhere and we went to 7/11 and got meat pies. then we each cabbied it home and texted each other in the middle of the night.

i was spewing in my sleeeeeep... (nah, i didnt. some other ppl did tho)

saturday. not so hungover. just couldn't bear the sunlight.

yum cha with my buddies on voting day. and we ordered SO many mango pancakes. like WOW. i will learn how to make these because they r so rubbery textured at the restaurant.

i was supposed to study today. then i remembered starcraft. and i got into a whole world of trouble. i mean, Trouble.

but wowsers. cinematics and graphic kick SC1 and WoW. Blizzard have outdone themselves yet again.

gearing up for 2 gym sessions tomorrow.

and so intrigued to find out the aftermath of friday nite.

so im on the train, pretty zoned out, playing with my itouch and for once in my life, was not aware of my surroundings.

all i knew was that i had decided to get off at martin place today and walk.

so in the back of my mind, i thought it was very very bizarre (yet i did nothing about it) when, after 85% of the people in my carriage had gotten off and hence, most of the seats were empty, this old looking, pretty built guy walks up the stairs and sits directly in front of me (i was in the 6 seater.. by myself). so i subconsciously move further into the corner. and the guy moves closer to me.

and his face is in my face. and im like.. ew freak. get away from me. and during all this time (what seemed like eons), i still had my headphones on. and the lady sitting a couple of seats back is watching in minute fascination.

so i finally glace up to see who this stranger was.

and im like

'oh shit!'

and he's like laughing his head off.
