fuchsia fragments

Last two weeks of quarter (yes, I have come to the realisation that I live my life in quarters) and do not have anything extra planned. Minimal orders, no outings, every additional second and moment of my time is devoted to my trusty lenovo laptop which connects me to this thing called work. This quarter, it wasn't necessary. There's plenty of time during the usual work hours of 8-6 that I am cruising.

However, I still have been really tired. I take my time with things now that I know that there is time. Like making little Ethan's cake. Took my time indeed.

We had a fun afternoon yesterday at Ethan's first birthday party. Even if we were put in charge of the kids games. So tiring but so funny... (TOTALLY NOT RIGGED!!! NOT!)

And omg the food was sooooo nomnomnomnom. Andrew's dad use to be the head dim sum chef at Emperor's Garden or something in Chinatown. And he made char siu bao, siu mai, spring rolls, singapore noodles, fish balls, fried chicken wings. I WISH I HAD A BOX!!!! Epic awesome.

And then today...

I'm really glad to say that I have dedicated this afternoon to my room though. Cleaning, wiping, throwing things out, donating and rearranging (the books on the bookshelf). It's so much neater and it feels lighter! Not sure that that's possible...

I clearly don't remember how full my wardrobe already is when shopping. Because now that all my old and new clothes have been washed, dried and ironed, I find that I am lacking in a few hangers and a heck of a lot of space. Perhaps if I had another railing?

I have even moved a lot of the "fold-able" clothes to a draw. oh oh... I think it has something to do with me always wearing the same stuff. No imagination. I blame how long it usually takes to come up with a different outfit. I simply don't have the time...?!

I love spending time with my family and this weekend was one of them!

Even if it means having to play wii all afternoon with my godbrother and play mario kart and mario brothers over and over again!

Tonight, had dinner with grandma and family. Turned it to like dinner for 11 which is awesome. Meant grandma had no excuse not to eat as there was plenty of food. She is so cute... she tried to help us set the table. ngaw.

Justin and Carmen came over too. Asked who the tray of cookies on the bench were for. I said he could take some home. He said, don't worry i will. Then asked (jokingly of course) if he could have the whole tray. HAHA... good one.

And Joyce and Donna stopped by late afternoon on their way back from road trip. Looking a little worse for wear. So we fed them coconuts. And chocolate chip cookies. And take home brownie cupcakes. Oh, the service you get at my place. :)

Also had a bittermelon, capsicum, cucumber, celery and green apple juice today. it's like a detox thing. drinking that in the afternoon in hot hot weather made me want to gag. i think i went overboard with the capsicum? That and the smell of rich buttery baked goods did not go well together. Drank a litre of sparkling water with fresh lemon to compensate. Didn't really work..

Taking advantage of my pro-activeness, I also (finally) cleaned the fish tank. The pump's broken but did what i could. Water's still cloudy as there is a lot of particles to settle but its looking a lot better. I think i'm going to leave the UV light on 24/7 for a few weeks to allow the plants to regrow.

Went with mum to Costco this morning. Not my kind of shop. So many people (and it was early so it wasn't even that busy) and to many XL trolleys. Then went to Alexandria and Victoria's Basement. That shop is like my kind of shop. Got two massive awesome drink dispensers for wendie's birthday.

Can't wait to mix some cocktails up!!!

never seems to be enough space.

and no, it is not an euphemism for having too many clothes. because the number of items in my wardrobe has not increased. if anything, it has shrunk!

and i have to say, there is some sort of satisfaction from throwing things out.

also redid my photo board. JYS... we need a photo together!!!

this year's last non-holiday long weekend gone :(

glad we went out on saturday, shame about the weather for the rest of the weekend. prevented us from straying too far.

sooo cleaned out the pantry and mum found this sunbeam burr grinder that she bought 4 years ago. so i attempted to make light of the situation that we buy a lot of shit that we don't use and was like, 'you must've known 4 years ago we were going to buy the coffee machine this year!!!'.

so now we can have freshly ground coffee from whole coffee beans like a real home-style cafe. =D

and thennnn...

strangest thing. she found my fondue set that i was looking for last week. the one that the girls bought me for my birthday a few years back.

AND...

she found these legit cappuccino cups with saucers and i was moaning all weekend that we need to buy a few for our new machine.

all these things... so coincidental!

just spent the last 2 hours cleaning out my wardrobe.

felt good.

funny thing was... i only threw out two items.

and i ended up with more clothes than hangers???

i need more wardrobe space.

general rule: no wardrobe space, no new clothes. ;)

PS - i still need new shoes

who knew one could fit so much in their drawers. i have 9. i still have 9. less 2 massive bags of ... no longer needed/rubbish/don't want/random/havent used in years stuff.

my room doesn't feel any lighter.

and my wardrobe definetely does not look downsized.

why is it that i still can't find the right outfits?

oh and i went to dfo today.

was pretty much a letdown - again.

good for random shitty things.
shiat for what you really want... altho, one should have learnt by now.

no dress.
no jeans
no cardi for dress
no boots
no bargain bargains.
no flats.
no thermals for japan.

what i got?

- a nightshirt.
- part of a pressie
- 2 dotti tops for summer
- just jeans wear-at-home knit

on the way home, i went to another hole. aka, roselands. full of old people and just about as quiet as a library.

why?

- to go to tarjay. yeah im hilarious. i go to someone elses tarjay to shop. there are several reasons. its bigger. its cleaner. i dont have to be obliged to say hi and chat to people. i can shop in peace. im unknown. they have more variety; more stock. i dont have to shop in my uniform.
- got my beanbag refill. still deciding how best to wash the bean bag.

and hayfever totally ruined my day.

controlled me basically. couldn't shop in peace. like.. half the time it was running. then i started sneezing. then it was blocked. and its like red from blowing my nose. =(

i even went to the pharmacy at roselands to get zyrtec. it didn't work that much.

grr. at least i can sleep now.

... in hindsight, i shouldve said yes to work when they called this morning.

i think i fixed my ipod shuffle!! AWESOME!!

and i went on a bit of a cleaning craze after taking nessie and scout on their walk. i full cleaned the balcony area. lol. nessie was like wtf. why r u wetting my lounging area. hahahahaha.

i spent like 6 hours cleaning the fish tank today.
it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gross.
and im not saying that its not my fault or completely my fault
but a few fishies were missing.
some pretty notable ones too =(
and i will admit that 3 fish died today because of me.. well the temperature. but me.
and another 3 are missing. =( =(
i feel like replacing them.

sluggish and slow at work today. we had a very interesting chat before in the lunchroom though. at the expense of certain people.
woke up late and felt like doing nothing.
although i did clean my room for 3 hours last night.
im gonna start playing lotto.

don't u feel a little bit freaked out when you read your horoscope and it sounds just about right? =S
anyhow, bummed around a bit with jan. gossiped a bit. found out a lot. lols. shes got too big a mouth for her own good. kinda like donna. hahaha
and i think its about time i clean out shiat ready for uni...

and i took scout for a walk, and its nice to know that in the 21st century, there was still this lovely little house down the road from us that we walked past and outside their picketed gate were these little buckets of lemons with a sign saying

'take me. i'm free =)'

it was so refreshing. shoulda taken a picture.

for those who dont already know, i have a tendency to clean and organise things when im sad/depresses/angry/pissed/upset. so i even went to the trouble of finding gloves, tea tree oil and a mop and bucket and literally made the floor freaking shiny all because i had this pent up.. emotion. and that was after a powerwalk in the arvo sun.
i even tried retail therapy but when ur sad and upset, theres nothing that will catch ur eye and say 'buy me! buy me!'
