Cocktails in the Office

Friday drinks just went up a notch. The lovely Karen bought in a bottle of Hendricks gin and Chris, one of our senior legal people went to buy tonic, cucumbers and lime. We are so spoilt. We had straws and ice cubes and comfy chairs that it was like our own wine and cocktail bar. It was a good afternoon. And there was a lot of intellectual (and judgmental) chatter going on - mostly about the C level execs and how perception and imagine is everything.

It was more about how our regional President is portrayed as the "mother" yet we are in an industry that is run by men so more than anything, we need to keep away from these images and stereotypes. There is a long way to go until we drop the clear perception of using the words "female leaders" rather than just "leaders". Should there be a difference? Absolutely not.

I feel like I have been mulling things over again and again. And rethinking things through and through. It makes you feel like you are in a little bit of a rut. And difficult to get out. Or maybe I am just waiting for something to pick me up and pull me out. It's hard to explain... and it might also be the adrenalin of having so much on in the past few weeks to something that's almost the exact opposite of it. Maybe this is how people who go into retirement feel like?
