a range of public transport today. from the west trains, mtr and mini buses. this morning, we took the trains to mong kok (traffic this morning was really bad, so we went via the trains). like shopping central it was niiiiceeeee and cheap too =D =D i bought like 3 bags n a whole bunch of other stuff. and im quite surprised at the number of foreigners, predominantly skips, english etc people who were shopping there. the shopping centre was brand central .. and way too overpriced, so we headed for the streets and the markets. and i loved it =D
theres a street (we went to portland, arygle, dundas) called the 'ladies market' and well, they named it right. bags, bags, bags and shoes, shoes, shoes and everything else inbetween. and cheap too. no really, like i got a bag for $HK20.. thats less than 4 bucks in aust!!! and got myself a couple of ff posters =) hmm i was gonna get sunnies.. but they were fake.. n imma brandwhore when i comes to sunnies. and my wallet.. fake leather is so not cool. ahh.. all the gwailos were shopping there too, but they werent getting that many bargain bargains (probably bargains to them though) the locals and so tight with foreigners. so glad i can blend in with the crowd =D like they sold the same thing to some gwailo for their 'actual' price and we got it for like almost half price.. hehe
ahh yes, made a couple of stops on the way.. once at a cafe.. it was crap. but well, sister was nagging and wanted to be fed. had a drink there.. not bad.. but well, its average for a place in hk. second place, mum wanted to eat some really disgusting medicinal thingy.. anyhow its meant to be good for you. so i swallowed (quite literally) a couple of spoonfuls. and also had chrysanthemum tea.. tat was good.. especially from an actual herbal store. food is way cheap in hk. also got a winter top and reallly thick coat.. nice though.. cheap but branded =)
i wanted to shop more there.. but well, first day of shopping and we didnt wanna carry so much plus we had to get home to meet uncle for dinner. lil coz wanted kfc (i know wat ur thinking, u go all the way to hk for kfc?? yeah, i was thinking that too..) but well.. hmm nothing much different. they serve more varieties than in aus.. just like all the other fast food places.. maccas.. they have like rice and tea and range of other food. anyhow, they're salads are crap and a rip off. plus they only had two types of dressing. pfft.. not much choice there.
the later the day gets, the more people there are around. we went to jusco (huge department store in hk) for a walk around and parknshop (supermarket) for some fruit.. and random stuff.. mm.. ice cream rice doobies. ahh my dear, u mentioned that really nice brand of ice ceram.. yeah? haagen.. and we were walking passed the ice cream section.. and there was a HUGE fridge full of haagen ice cream.. and i thought of you =) just like how we walk around and i see soemthing, and i think.. hmm.. thats so fobbish.. she'll disapprove or she'll be so critical of that and blah blah =P
shall definietely be going back to jusco for some more shopping. today was more like a browse through to see wat they had to offer. plus too many people, couldnt shop properly. plus well, u cant shop with guys around (uncle and coz -_-").. they walk ahead of you soooo fast!!
and i got an international sim. whoo i can sms ppl =D and make phone calls =D and not get lost in hk.. (well technically, we can still get lost but now i can call my uncle and be like.. hey im lost. come get me =D =D =D) i shouldve activiated international roaming on my optus but well the days leading up to out departure was loaded with things to do.. so never got around to is.. plus well, couldnt b btohered since i was gonna get a new number soon anyway.
hong kong is full of passive smoking, pollution, people, noise, cars speeding (like i mean speeding.. a least 20 km/h over the limit.. and i thought i was bad). but the supermarkets are v interesting. live 'groceries' or animals.. fish.. cute lil trolleys (theyre small and compact). lots of DIY stuff. man.. yakult here is so cheap.. im gonna drink so much of it.. but not go overboard.. dun wanna b sitting on the toilet all day.. hmm wat else, they have quite literally everything u need there.
haha the ad for harry potter is funny here.. how they pronounce harry potter and stuff. same with king kong.. tats bout all for today. more shopping tomorrow methinks =D =D i should go n pack some stuff away now.. so i dun haf to later.
