so we got to park underneath westfield. concierge valet parking. the guy was soooo hot and he had a french accent. i was like... you can drive my car anytime you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! eeeeeeeekkkk!!!!

got there perfect timing and even had time to go by max brenner for some chocolate loving :-)

reception was nice and simple and we made a lot of noise (hahaha much to the embarassment of the parents).

Hunter Valley Road Trip!!!

Fun fun fun!

we got up mightly early (ok, same as a work day..) and we all met at 3rd aunts. was going to be 4 cars but decided with three full cars instead - 15 passengers, one handicapped car (guess who's - JC) with a semi-flat tyre, thankfully no probs at all in the end!

agreement was the stop at the maccas. and i got to lead. (okay, i led most of the day ^^)

ended up being a competition for biggest ass of the day. and there were some big contenders!

Nomination #1
Myself - cut to the right lane as lead driver with about 200 m to the left turn near Pymble with a massive bus in front of me. Almost lost one of the following cars in the process. Lucky for me, justin (last car) works in the area and knew the roads. phew!

Nomination #2
Coz 'Silly' Samuel - Overtook me with 1 km to go to maccas (he had all this time to on the freeway but had to be then!!!) and missed the exit so he didn't stop until cessnock. everyone in my car and justins laughed their asses off!!!!!!

Nomination #3
My dad - we drove up some very very scenic unsealed roads to a lookout. since the weather was quite wet, the ground was quite muddy and he stepped right into this massive clay-mud puddle and got grass and mud all over his shoes. we had to open all the boots to see what emergency supplies (water, wipes, newspapers, plastic bags) we could use to help him get it off. hahahahahaha

Justii - guess it was inevitable. as the last car, he would have had an itch to get to the front. despite knowing it was double points and seeing highway patrol, there was a stage where he revved it up, clocking ~140 to get to the front of the pack. tsk tsk tsk dangerous!

anyway, we had heaps of fun despite a bit of rain. the scenery was delightful. we did the touristy stuff like gelato at tt, rosemount and lindemans (home of the O!) and brokenwood. a short stop at the village to sample the liquer and chocolate shops before home and dinner at the local chinese.

have to say i think lunch was the best (not of course, because i booked it but even dad and aunty said it was really good). nice and different. pot pies, damper and great pasta. :) and perfect timing because that was when it rained the hardest! and kangaroos across the road. nice nice nice!!!

drove back via the harbour bridge and everyone came to our place for coffee (hehehe gets to use my machine again!) before heading to dinner.

thoroughly enjoyed myself, enjoyed leading and driving up. want to do it again

I went to the gym this morning *does a little dance*

broke the no-gym/lazy drought finally!!!

anyway, i think it was because i didn't actually sleep that well last night. not sure why.

i even managed to catch the express so i was the first to get to work on my pod at about 10 past. which goes to show that everyone else comes in just before 8:30. i am so sick of the BS that goes around. oh this person gets here way before 8 and they are never late, yadda yadda. bull-fking-sht!

plus i think it is so unfair that the "manager" can always take monday sickies but when someone is legitimately sick, they get so much slack for it that it (sometimes) isn't even worth the day off.

the wedding season

tis the season to be married...

second wedding in as many months and it will be three in three months next week!

my cuz Andrew (they are getting closer in age...!!) got married to the lovely Corinne and we had a little reception at Burwood last night to celebrate. :)

the babies and toddlers stole the show. especially the youngest - tiny little justin! such a cute and smart baby. hilarious when he laughs.

it's been a while since we've had a get together so it was nice to catch up.

cat's turn next week so tat should be interesting.

Weddings work best probably when you attend with no expectations in mind!

we (collectively - myself, sis, big justin and carmen) bought andrew and corinne a sake and bowl set from japan city.

and we will be gifting cat and iggy a lovely crystal (i think, at least expensive glass!) decanter since they like wine.

SOOOOO thoughtful! and and and... justin - wait for it - wrapped it up all by himself. *applauds* it actually looked half decent and i was impressed (and said so myself!).

hilarious to see brian hoard all of the bombonieres from our table, his pockets were literally bursting with chocolate. hahaha and when the couple came around to toast, he watched to pick up his wine glass (of water) and toast too!!! sooo cute!

so i've had a weekend of too much food.

and and and BIG week coming up (before the next wedding too!):

i think we're planning a big road trip to the hunter on aust day. should be good - 3-4 cars will be exciting. i want to lead!!! alpha much? ;) at least to the lunch place since i booked it because i think ahead unlike someppl (*cough* justin) and who think we will get there in 3 hours. (i predict 4 - one stop @ twin maccas and a fair amount of traffic plus not speeding due to double demerits...)

i love the hunter but don't need to buy any more wine at this stage.

it doesn't feel anything like the year before...

i have been working my ass off these last few weeks and i am getting tired!!!

we had to postpone our compliance audit halfway through the actual audit because we (they) realised that a lot of things weren't up the scratch / completed / ready for audit. i am so unsurprised. i think they weren't either.

wednesday night, caught up with madison for a couple of drinks at harts. so happy that she's doing well. :)

thursday night was our client/ contractor party. and despite all negative instigations about it - boring, best behaviour, no excessive drinking, must mingle, etc - i thought it was a lot better than our christmas party. i had a great time!!! finally got to meet a lot of our clients and contractors.

towards the end of the night, met a couple of senior managers from CBA - they are so switched on, intelligent and just full of worldly experience. and they just said some things that helped me understand who i am and where i want to be. :) :) :) really really interesting to hear what they had to say about the CBA glitch on wednesday and what they had to do, the steps to implementation and the time it takes to fix issues like these whilst at the same time understand that there were a lot of angry customers who couldn't access their money!

and so, we talked for ages.. and haha it looked like we were going to party on at the ivy afterwards too. but we didn't - stole away - and it took AGES to find a bloody cab. was after midnight when i got home.

and i was neither hungover nor tired at work on friday!!! some of the others, not so lucky! lol.

friday was a rather bitter day for the ops team. so many unfair things coming to light but hey, let's not talk about that! it was h-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s to talk about the night before though!!! hehehehe :)

it was also our ops team dinner. (yay...) ez and sare and i went for a drink at 5 on-the-dot. could not be in there a minute longer with the other two. and it was good went to the brooooooklyn and had a wine. then we went to the same old spice (can you tell i'm getting bored of the place).

another girl who use to work here, right when i started came too cause she's going to be temping for us in the near year for a couple of weeks. hm. yeah. more bitterness here but hey, not my decision or problem!

anyway, ez and sare and i as the only members of the ops team who actually went to the WHOLE contractor party and STAYED, were by this stage, quite buggered. anyway, we managed and it was good (as it could be) and thank goodness it ended early!!

NOT THAT I WAS ABOUT TO GO HOME AND CRASH...

no.. i went to cronulla to amanda's 21st cause i havent seen her in ages and ages and ages and jan said she was driving so i could get a lift home. woo!

it was so good to see her with her new bf (they look so happy together) and to see her doing well post-target (everyone does well post-target!!!) and just to catch up. it was even better than avril was there cause hadn't seen her in ages either! yay!

however, i never, never, never NEVER want to go to northies again. felt so out of place. it was pure low-IQ minded bogan zone. no thanks. and the floor was so sticky cause of all the spillages i thought my shoes were going to get stuck there! lol

finally came home and crashed around midnight.

went for an eye examination this morning... everything's still good. and i didn't have the heart to correct the optom when he suggested i sit closer to the front in lectures. :) :)

just wrapped all the girls' xmas pressies. woo!! and going to make gingerbread men and ladies tomorrow. if you would like some, you better shout out!

an average xmas party

yesterday was the first (or the internal) work christmas party.

it was ok. food was average and well, it was really noisy so it wasn't GREAT. ok, so i'll admit it - these people just can't / don't know how to / don/t have the funds to / don't want to party the way bigger companies (e.g. GE) do... :(

i have to admit, at GE i loved the whole package - whether it was all of us coming together to book a room for the night to make sure we were all safe, to actually HAVING a social committee who were not great, but at least committed to bringing all the offices together for EOY celebrations, to providing everyone with a cab charge home. these little thoughtful things were missed.

and the after party sucked. i mean.. srly, jackson's??? and salsa?? although it was interesting at one stage. pole dancing!! wooohooo!! but the DJ SUCKED. he didn't even play our song requests!!!

and dinner was three course, my steak was soooooo tough. but my entrée and dessert (cheese platter) were pretty good. yum. so was a slice of heaven. yummy cocktail. first drink in who can remember how long? wasn't even use to the alcohol.. and i thought it was really strong. how OOC O_O

anyway, i ended up home pretty early, i think it was just before midnight - and that's early considering friday nights (the normal random ones during the year) usually lasted just as long if not longer!

no hangover, no can't remember what happened, no funny stories, no embarrassing moments...

but a christmas party none-the-less.

next year, it might be a whole new thing again. who knows?

got up toasty early (although it was freezing - yes, i was very cold last night) for a hair cut. only to have to wait because the hairdresser was running late.

so i shopped at myer. got my bang bang bin and some clearance clothing. nice~

came home, nessie's eye was weepy. so made a last min consultation at the RSPCA. poor baby. so scared. so she's somehow managed to damage the outer layer of her eye and amazingly not her cornea. the vet was perplexed and had no idea how that could have happened except to say that she's a super lucky dog! so we came home with some eye ointment. that's going to be fun...

and then...

more itinerary and europe research and planning. it goes slow but almost there in terms of what to DO. then i need to plan how much to SPEND (i.e., budget). easy part right?

anyhoo and i feel the need to share with all that i watched breaking dawn last night after awesome dinner with janpanny at chat thai.

hahaha yeah.. . needless to say, it was... . . . . . . as you'd expect. had its moments.

(Il Divo - Time to Say Goodbye)

This isn't going to be a pretty post. so if it offends you, move along.

But it's time to say goodbye in SO many ways. not all of them good.

We were completely, utterly and unfairly ref'd out of our netball final today. so much so that we are now making a formal complaint about the ref followed by a letter and deflecting to the monday competition (and their rival company)... FOR GOOD. it wasn't pretty. and we aren't being sore losers but we had no hope when all the calls were against us and for them. . . . :(

and it is so so disappointing to go back to work after a game and know that we could have easily won it had the ref been FAIR.

I had a great morning this morning, but it all seemed to go downhill. . .

if there's anything i really dislike, it is being micro-managed. Note to all: You are not doing yourself any favours by micromanaging me. It is detrimental. It's uncalled for. It's counter-productive.

I know what i need to do. I know my deadlines. And i don't need you asking me every 5 minutes what i am doing.

OKAY??? :(

Think it's time i think about my future (funny that, it was this time last year i was thinking about it too...).

I just don't want to be a one-year wonder everywhere...

72 hours in HK!!!

Friday night ... Start the timer!!!Was of to a bit of a shaky start really... Had to wait a very long 90 minutes for our boarding passes. All good though business class tickets here we come! We just really really had to rush through customs (like I mean we literally had 20 mins until the plane was going to leave... Talk about cutting it close!) we were probably the last ppl to go through customs that nightGot to HK at very early 4 a.m. An hour earlier than expected. WowsersWent to uncles to have a much needed power nap and boom! Time to shop!!!!!Harbourside first stop. So many people... Why??? Got my blazer and a couple of tops... No where near enough stuff though. Froyo - frozen yoghurt - is the newest craze there. Yum.Felt like we were on out feet all day (well we were) and the time went by so quickly :( I never thought I'd actually say this but I think I wanted to stay a bit longer!!!Went to grandmas for dinner. Lie te fish that u can only get in HK!Then went back to the local hood for some more shopping. But 90 mins isn't much time when the shopping centre is like Bondi and Miranda and centre point combined in one! Holy sht it takes like 5 mins to walk from store to store! Not to mention all the human traffic!!!Sunday came and we went to get our hair done. So cheap! And then it was pretty much wedding and reception from there. Can't say it was the best wedding I have been to but still nice I guess. The celebrant forgot the ring part... Tsk!!!We had a couple of hours to burn after the ceremony so we went to yet another packed shopping centre. Too brandy though and hence too expensive :(Reception venue was rather packed. Good to see the HK branch of the fams though :)And after that it was home time.One of the most hectic 72 hours of my life!!! ;)

and i give two of my payroll lists to the girls to help me collect timesheets and they don't even do it properly. MEGA WASTE OF TIME AND SUPER STRESSFUL.

amazing how much you can do when you are up early!

Saturday:

8 a.m.: New IKEA at Tempe. Mum and I had brekkie and then we toured the new shopping complex. It was so awesome and I drove her mum saying "I want this and this and this in my own place one day". and she drove me mad by going "OMG, these kiddie toy sets and plushies and tea sets are SOOO CUTE. I WISH I HAD A GRANDKID SO I CAN BUY IT FOR THEM!!!" ...... *speechless* We only ended up buying a couple of replacement glasses, a random really nice serving bowl (at my insistence, it will be perfect for my Tea Party!! Woot woot!) and clothes line doobie. Boring.
10:45 a.m.: Back at shiatty Westfield for some grocery shopping. Not much fun, rather boring and crowded. Even braved those yucky asian grocery shops on the forest. Never again for a while. . .
12:30 p.m.: Head over to JYSs to meet the John. He's a nice fella. Almost comical. Very decisive!!! (Major plus +++++++) and he liked my melting moments. More brownie points for him. We went to Oatley's The Miulga Tree for lunch. Nice ambience and such a lovely day, so rather fun :)
4:00 p.m.: More shopping with the Mother. Checking out some of the sales in anticipating of buying clothes for my coz's wedding!!! Two weddings really. One coming up real soon and one just around the corner in the new year. Cannot be too prepared!!! And it's cheaper to buy when the price is right, rather than buying for the occasion.
6:00 p.m.: Head over to Jan's and Burwood for Sushi Train (where i watched the plates roll on by...) and movie and coffee time. we watched In Time - the new JT movie. it wasn't bad. I think i quite like JT movies... he can be rather funny. and kind of hot, but not my type. ngaw. movie ended up being free on cinebuzz... 2 tickets in VMAX for 100 points. SWEET!!!
Midnight: Sleepy time :-) Twas a good day.

Sunday . . . on the other hand:

Slept in till 11 and complained the rest of the morning away about how hot it was. Although I did manage to get all my shopping list and recipes together for next week's party. :) :) :) :) :)
Went to Miranda, specifically the DJs for some expensive sorbolene shit for some person overseas. Who-da-thunk that sorbolene would cost over $30.00 per litre??? what a dumbass. I'm really sorry, but i'm use to paying closer to $3 per litre ... it smelt the same, felt the same and heck, the packaging was pretty ordinary so why the price? Just because it's coming from DJs...... LAME.
Got home just as the rain started to pelt all over the floor. I love the smell of rain on a hot hot day. its almost as good as freshly mowed grass. mmmmm mmmm mmmmmmmmm
Nessie was so scared on the thunder she tried to bolt inside when we were collecting the clothes off the line. what a chicken. why do i have such a scaredy cat for a dog? but omg omgomg you can't ever be mad at her. her puppy dog eyes gets you every single time. wendeh can't even yell at her, she just ends up laughing. yeah. hilarious!

Methinks i'm just going to surf the net for awhile... maybe do some shitty paperwork that's on my desk. find a new job, do that Europe itinerary, do my log book, yadda yadda.

first weekend free and the saturday's gone already.

changed the filter on our fish tank and fark.. it was bad. got water everywhere as you do... lol. 3 hours later, it was finally fixed. new filter's pretty smashing... who knew filters could evolve technologically too...

went to costco today too. wasn't so busy. not that we bought that much stuff... its just way too bulky most of the stuff...

it doesn't take very long via car to get to rosehill. and its quite an easy drive which is good. no need to stress out in traffic beforehand.

but i have to say that i definitely like randwick a lot more... not sure what it is... maybe because i have always done my exams there... i feel like we are connected somehow. lol.

and it is still so sad i have only ever been to a racecourse... for an exam and not the races. unique and special though i have to say!

work today was... hectic as you'd expect. my whole desk was covered in paperwork and they ran out of space so they put stuff on my chair as well. lol

although it was the first time that my stuff was actually semi looked at and im really appreciative that they did try to cover for me. what was funny yet annoying at the same time was everyone asking for their pay slips because it was thursday... im like.. chill out... ive been away for three days. i need some breathing space!!!

gymmed it today. things change so quickly there... all the renovations, not so pleasant.

came back and because it was such a beautiful morning, took nessie for a run as well. well i ran and she tried to keep up the lazy animal!!!!! it was really nice :)

theyre putting gym machines/equipment at the mark - nice touch, not entirely sure if necessary. making it a bit like the hongkongese places now but... all about fitness and health right?

lots of people doing tai chi today too.

now just to settle into study mode!

getting sick within a week of my exam is not ideal. thankfully, most of it is overcome.

having another resignation affect me directly is not cool - why are they doing this to me? it's me, not them...

so many things to look forward to post-exam. feels so far away.

so many things i shouldn't worry about but i do - like my emails at work and who's going to be taking care of my stuff . . . (no one)

got all those boardgames :) packages in the mail are uber cool. and uber exciting.

i feel like i need a week off after exam to catch up on life. if only...

relearning procrastination

deliberately - and i mean - made a huge effort - to have absolutely no plans this weekend. to study.

it's like an alien word. my brain doesn't know how to process it but procrastination seems to come effortlessly, as though it were second-nature.

i made a pretty good attempt yesterday (barr the sleeping in). didn't go anywhere, didn't download that much stuff to watch, didn't surf the net for too long, didn't spend a lot of time of facebook, youtube, etc.

just the hour... or two on ebay. got an early night. as you would when you study. right?!

today however...

still attempting - the books are open, the highlighters are all lined up, the post its are ready and even my notes are printed and ordered. its just a matter of using all of these things in a productive manner . . . . . .

sidetracked by the MUM - myer. review. skirt. cue. sale. etc.

but even then it wasn't that long.

and the afternoon... seemed to slip through. movie. net. nothing. just ... tick tock.

monday netball. we beat them 20-13 but they cheated and said it was 15-13!! :( we're not on the top of the ladder due to for and against because of that!!!

and today... i touched the ball three times as GK. and stood there the rest of the game. we won by 22 goals. :)

masterchef live, bowling and drinks

janice stayed over last night cause we had dinner and a catch up with a couple of the girls from tarjay (very very long time no see!) which was great. but she snores a lot. and is a bed HOG and more importantly, a BLANKET HOG!!! (also trying not to place too much emphasis on this as i am grateful that i have a double bed and i know someppl have shared worse... but of course, a lot more intimate so... [trades-off]).

and the reason she stayed over was cause we were going to moore park for Masterchef Live! we were late. she slept right in. and i was the one who had to turn off her screeching alarm clock at 4 am. what kind of person sets their alarm for 4 am?!?! i thought i was crazy with 5!!!

anyway, we picked up a few of her friends on the way, some quite randomly and we got there and it took a long long long time to find parking. why? because janice has no patience and doesn't know how to "weave" and "stalk" and when she does, you feel like you are going to crash. not good. not good at all.

How to find parking in a packed carpark:
1. Weave in and out of the aisles.
2. Creep slowly and stalk people as they approach their cars.
3. Have patience.
4. Do not just stop in the middle of traffic in the lane where cars go down to exit and come up find spaces - too much competition!!!
5. Drive slowly and with care.

Janice did none of the above. . . . . it was so funny cause the rest of us were all yelling out different instructions and it was just chaos.

we made it in one piece. and had vietnamese salad, dumplings and slushies for lunch. YUM!

place was pretty packed but the weather was purfect - no rain and no sun and a nice balmy temperature. saw and ate heaps of stuff. . . the stalls were really unstingy with their food sampling and more than happy to let everyone taste test which is great. (not like the easter show!).

tasted wine (muscato was great), more wine, organic wine (tasted like crap), coffee (awesome!), appletiser, maggie beer stuff, chilli sauce, blueberries, almonds, cookies, pasties, pizza, dips, tea (it was really good but really expensive), bread, oils and whatever else was thrown our way. although i am quite sure we all passed on the organic picked cucumber... hmm.

and we did a cooking class - how to flamenco chorizos with guest appearance from anna (the girl judge on junior mc). it was fun =) and got to eat it afterwards of course!

saw alvin and gary and dani and alana and kate... and peter gilmore :) and tony bilson. fun day. something different.

and then afterwards, we went to north stratty. nice precinct!! definitely worth going back.

on a whim, we played 2 games of bowling and 1 game of laser. the two losers (janice and jack) paid for dinner at the pub. long island iced tea!!! it was so strong. too much ice and spirit and not enough (diet) coke to dilute it. but we got use to it. :) :) :)

bowling was so funny. soooooo many gutter balls. i managed to hang in there and come second. woohoo!! and laser... it was just rough. the teams we played against (like 3 times as many people as our little red team) were soooooo rude and rough and callous. lebos. what can you expect eh. i was told to "piss off" cause i shot one of them. mate, it's just a game...

anyway, the pub was fun. we were going to go to outback steakhouse but it was a 40 min wait.. no thanks! but the pub grub and the atmosphere was awesome!

and then (you thought the night was over did you not?)... we went to woolies to get cheese and crackers and to go jennifer's place for some more wine and cheese. hahahaha. more hilarity.

i think we got home at around 12:30 (janice drove). it was good but so tiring.

me wants to go paintballing next!!!

and no, it is not an euphemism for having too many clothes. because the number of items in my wardrobe has not increased. if anything, it has shrunk!

and i have to say, there is some sort of satisfaction from throwing things out.

this year's last non-holiday long weekend gone :(

glad we went out on saturday, shame about the weather for the rest of the weekend. prevented us from straying too far.

sooo cleaned out the pantry and mum found this sunbeam burr grinder that she bought 4 years ago. so i attempted to make light of the situation that we buy a lot of shit that we don't use and was like, 'you must've known 4 years ago we were going to buy the coffee machine this year!!!'.

so now we can have freshly ground coffee from whole coffee beans like a real home-style cafe. =D

and thennnn...

strangest thing. she found my fondue set that i was looking for last week. the one that the girls bought me for my birthday a few years back.

AND...

she found these legit cappuccino cups with saucers and i was moaning all weekend that we need to buy a few for our new machine.

all these things... so coincidental!

road tripping goodness!

the rain barely dampened our day... and definitely not our spirits!!!

it started rather strangely for me... following on from the text conversation of the night before, i texted JL in the morning again to ask what the go was. last i heard JYS, wasn't going to make it but JL thought she might?

so i sorted that out, and found out that for some strange reason, JL was already on her way down to the H-ville. so got a lift... as you do!

we ended up being a bit late to D's. a normal occurrence and it hardly mattered in the long run. anyhoo, set the gps and we were on our way... after cleaning janice's most hated 'T-intersection'. hehehehehe the signs of road rage began to show . . . . . .

anyway, it was a really nice trip up there, lots of curves and windy roads and a fair amount of traffic too.

stopped for lunchies first where donna's iced coffee was initially an iced chocolate. two thumbs up for the fish n chip place: one for the awesome fish and chips and two for having pure protein options... prawns!!!

headed to palm beach after that. and chickened for a while by staying dry in the car. a very SENSIBLE choice imo...

but of course, we joined the kids after not too long. it was fun. lots of it. like the hair flipping. and the break dancing. and running like weirdasses. jumpin up and down... blending in with the sand... :) :)

nice to relax and think about nothing. except maybe trying to own one of the many pretty houses lining the foreshore...

we were supposed to stop by a cafe that donna claims to have seen on the way up. apparently, i seconded her comment too. i don't recall. . . but we never found it. so it is going to be a great excuse to go back one day for the coffee!!!

anyway, we ended up back at castle towers to get dinner. chicken, spinach and carbs (pasta and potato). not that we were in a hurry to cook.

i hate horror movies. and 28 days later is DEFINITELY a horror movie. i screamed. a lot. and i would never think about watching a horror movie by myself. ever. ever ever. never. is that enough reinteration?

then we made dinner. was pretty easy since it was pretty much just cooking pasta and mixing sauce through. so we sat in the kitchen and i freaked myself out about zombies and the infected. couldnt even manage to go to the bathroom until later... HAHAHA. sad.

and then...... it was the much-anticipated boardgames time!!!

janice and i rocked in taboo!!! =D =D =D too bad the ones that were epicly awesome didn't count. but it did build our confidence :) :)

I got paid today and probably for the first time since I have been working full time (which is a rather embarrassing admission) have I made a conscious effort of minimizing my expenses... And what a difference it makes! I mean on all the credit card statements it was always always just a number... And u transfer the balance of that number at the end of every month. No big deal right?? I was so wrong.It makes a difference - a massive difference - when you're trying to save for a deposit. And all of a sudden I have a spare few hundred in my bank account. I can't believe how easy it was to spend every other time without giving it much of a second thought... Yet it is so hard to make a conscious effort to save. So all those budget calculators and expenses diaries work because every little bit counts and all those little $2 or $3 expenses easily add up to $20 ... or $50.I'm even thinking about getting rid of the second credit card. Can't say it's been an easy lesson but definitely worth it. Makes you think about where all the ka-Ching is going and why. Up until this date I thought i was doing pretty well savings wise but now I know it can b better :)

this is not looking good for next week. it is supposed to be warm and sunny with beautiful rays of sunshine on the weekends so that we can go to floraide and/or palm beach!!! what's happening to the weather?? why so nice on the weekdays, make those of us in an office envious, and then bring out the wind, rain and cold on the two days that are WEEKENDS!?!?

so in other not-so-exciting news, we bought a new coffee machine. i'm in love with it and i am seriously contemplating inviting guests over just so they can experience its awesomeness. i don't even need to buy coffee in the mornings anymore. and it is so ironic, that there is literally a new espresso bar around the corner from me (completely random location, don't know how they are going to survive) - and i don't even really want to try it out! yikes!

had a lovely little catch-up dinner with the old girls last sunday night at the hard rock cafe. they really do know how to differentiate their services - not so much their products (as i would categorise this in the Hog's Breath, Blackbird or even Tony Roma's category) but their waiters and waitresses certainly do stand out. accent and all. but it made for some good times. my only wish was that it wasn't on a sunday night but oh wells.

i also have been doing a little baking in between, made some yummy cupcakes. please go to wynwyns place to check it out ;)

nessie ran home on her own... again. what a dumbass dog. don't know what to do with her sometimes.

i was literally strolling, yes s-t-r-o-l-l-i-n-g into work this morning. like expected to wait for the lift cause i could see people in front of me so i took my time... wasn't in a hurry... and i get to the bank of lifts and this guy's like holding the door open for me. i was like.. aw... that's such a nice gesture. *beams* so random yet so lovely.

and i was still the first of my bank of desks to get to work. something occurring more often these days. hm, actually, i think i arrive first most days.

anyhoo, another funny thing.. and this happened as i was on the phone to this new contractor. cause i thought she didnt submit her super forms. so she called me and was like... yeah i am pretty sure i posted them back to you...

so i put her on hold and i ask the girls and kel's like

"yeah, i binned them forms ages ago because they weren't signed. here i'll show you" and she diggs it out of the bin, ripped and all. and low and behold...

the first two are blank... and the third, on the back was signed!!

HAHAHAHA omg we all cracked up sooooo bad and i had to talk to the poor girl who was on the phone and make up some lame ass excuse. lololol. gold!!!

and i had the loveliest lunch hour with anna yesterday. we sat in the sun at hyde park. bliss!!! if only for one hour of one very epic day! :)

prepared for a bbq (that i didnt get to participate in)

went to joyce's for some boardgames fun and supposed lunch. but they were eating strawberries and pizza so i couldn't have any. i did have an earl grey though - with lemon. the games were pretty good. even when joyce was on my team =P

and then came home and played kitchen queen with janice and dons. that basically meant offering all the leftovers from the bbq to them. hahahahaha it was good too.

lovely day. would love more of these in the future :)

a slow week

it was a lovely monday. chucked a sickie and spent it with val ;)

darling harbour for a turkish breakfast, followed by a slow walk to the fish markets for yummy seafood.

we had a feast.. sashimi, prawns and oysters. until a naughty and very scary seagull came and just ate all our tuna sashimi!!! he freaking went for the expensive shit!! damn him!!! argh!!!

donna was like "NO!!!"

lol. it was crazy. happened in like 2 seconds. gone. just like that.

and then there were the chinese tourists. it makes us so sad to see how they litter, and disobey our rules and regulations... that is the reason why the seagull ate our sashimi!!!

then we trekked it to glebe where we had coffee and organic pancakes. the lil cafe was pretty cool and we got there just in time to avoid the sudden onpour of rain. :)

then since we had no other plans, we decided to bus it to the quay to hop on a ferry to manly for ben and jerry's and some relaxing time on the cold sand. it felt really really good.

and thennnnnn we were going to mamak's for rotti but the line was outrageously long... so we decided to head to korean via a kebab stop on the way. the kebab was really good (from the one bite that i got). like it was super crispy but the bbq sauce was really sweet and tangy. but it was still really good. mmmmm yummm.

and then we had korean. bbq, rice cakes, the usual fantastic stuff. this was where cherry and carl joined us. carl.. he was on something. such an entertaining guy. loved it. lol

and after dinner, we went to azuma for a matcha latte. nice way to finish the night :)

all this in 14 hours. not bad!!! one of the best sickies EVER!!!

It was good cause it was also my birthday (almost) .. Good excuse!!!!!

Got cake this arvo and drinks .. Felt kind of special :)

Anyway. We started at 6 at wildfire and had some really nice food and drinks. The dinner at the restaurant was pretty tame. No one got too out of hand and more importantly no one got kicked out!

So it went well and somewhere on between I was made to drink an "initiation shot"... I survived!

then decided to pick a fight with VHA for wendeh. $50 credit... hrmmm.. for about 3 hours of my time... i'll take it! better than nuttin

and then it was going to be a pretty boring, ordinary night...

except that mum was random. and like.. lets go out for siew yeh... @ chat thai!!!

so we went out at like 9:30.. and drove to the city. and got this awesome spot right outside capitol theatre and didnt even wait that long for chat thai.

had coconut ice cream and those pandan bread thingys and iced coffee and skewers. mmmmmmmmmm goood.

left just as mary poppins was finishing... oooh i know that feeling when those people walked out of the theatre!!! looks like it was a full house.

then drove home... pretty quick getting to and back from city tonight. about 20 mins each way which makes the trip well worth it.

oroton 60% off was tempting. but had no desire for it.

portmans further 50% off was GREAT!!! but most of the sizes were 6 or 16 . .

puma had no sale.

so all my reasons for going were pretty average... but i guess it was cause i didnt know what i wanted. and i didnt really have a great feeling about this being an awesome dfo outing.

feels a little strange to be home on a wednesday. i feel like my routine has been disrupted. went to the gym later - so all the people were unfamiliar... like i was walking into a completely different gym altogether.

then i didnt have my usual breakfast of one boiled egg. i had raisin toast instead and tea.

probs be drinking like 10 cups of tea to make up for my usual coffee too. bwahaha

just calorie counted easter eggs. the results are shocking.

i have so many things i want to do post exam. . . :-)

not so much going back to work on monday. my emails have been forwarded to someone else (not someone i trust and who will prob not even bother doing most of my stuff) so i wont even know what has happened... (i dont entirely agree with email forwarding. i think the GE way of delegating is much more useful because there is an email trail of what ppl have looked at and done for you... and it all stays in your inbox to file).

i will be really stressed on monday because it is also payroll week. i am putting money on the fact that a number of timesheets will be lost because of this email forwarding.

but that's something to think about later.

2 days at work, 2 days at home, 1 morning at the races and hopefully a bottle of vodka when i get home.

i'm not sure if anyone has caught on but quite a few of my team are extremely irritated at one said male (and the 'only' male) in our team. myself especially. . .

i've said it before and i'll say it again - but everything, EVERYTHING - comes back to me.

and others are beginning to notice and i'm about to crack. because its unfair, and it really peeves me off and it slows down my day.

i feel like my job is hampered because he isn't doing his.

hence, there are days (pretty much half of every payroll week) that i really dread going to work. because i know my effort to get everything done in 2 days always drags over to 3 or 4 because of something that is beyond my control.

and when he holds on to stuff that should be given to me straight away - that is another thing that really annoys me (and also the fact that people always go to him with stuff like this...). because for two months in a row now, we have copped late penalties because the lazy prick had the bills sitting on his desk / in his inbox. not to mention all the bills he has double paid and entered wrongly. its so time consuming to fix and to undo. and why should i have to be the one to undo it when its YOUR mistake???

plus we can never find the files/ folders we are after anywhere near his desk. no idea where things are saved on the shared drive either.

that my rant for the day.

i think i need a weekend away. anyone interested?
