Experiencing Tokyo when it was almost mid-summer really helped prepare me for the warmth and humidity of Singapore. And luckily, I did not find it to be as hot or humid as I expected it to me (which does not mean it wasn't). Experienced the random short bursts of rain as well as what they call "indoor" climate and "outdoor" climate. Basically, the air con is always set to Arctic temperatures (18-20 degrees) whilst it is a warm 28+ outdoors. Cardigan is a must!
The hotel we stayed at was only a couple of kms from the office and it was less than a year old which made it awesome! The size of the room was pretty good for Singapore and all up, no complaints. Enough shops and eateries around to not feel bored.
An intense week of training followed so evenings were mainly team dinners and drinks. It wasn't until Saturday that I got a day to explore so I went to queue up for 3 whole hours at Chinatown Complex for the 1 Michelin star soy sauce chicken & noodles! If you consider time as money, it is completely not worth it but I guess if you have time, go try it. It was good...
Tried to look around a couple of areas for apartment hunting. Didn't get very far... everywhere is so expensive so I am going to ask around and try and find something based on word of mouth. Close to the office seems like a good idea at the moment... and really, Singapore is a 'dot' on the world map so it should be easy to get around...!
