I love spending time with my family and this weekend was one of them!
Even if it means having to play wii all afternoon with my godbrother and play mario kart and mario brothers over and over again!
Tonight, had dinner with grandma and family. Turned it to like dinner for 11 which is awesome. Meant grandma had no excuse not to eat as there was plenty of food. She is so cute... she tried to help us set the table. ngaw.
Justin and Carmen came over too. Asked who the tray of cookies on the bench were for. I said he could take some home. He said, don't worry i will. Then asked (jokingly of course) if he could have the whole tray. HAHA... good one.
And Joyce and Donna stopped by late afternoon on their way back from road trip. Looking a little worse for wear. So we fed them coconuts. And chocolate chip cookies. And take home brownie cupcakes. Oh, the service you get at my place. :)
Also had a bittermelon, capsicum, cucumber, celery and green apple juice today. it's like a detox thing. drinking that in the afternoon in hot hot weather made me want to gag. i think i went overboard with the capsicum? That and the smell of rich buttery baked goods did not go well together. Drank a litre of sparkling water with fresh lemon to compensate. Didn't really work..
Taking advantage of my pro-activeness, I also (finally) cleaned the fish tank. The pump's broken but did what i could. Water's still cloudy as there is a lot of particles to settle but its looking a lot better. I think i'm going to leave the UV light on 24/7 for a few weeks to allow the plants to regrow.
Went with mum to Costco this morning. Not my kind of shop. So many people (and it was early so it wasn't even that busy) and to many XL trolleys. Then went to Alexandria and Victoria's Basement. That shop is like my kind of shop. Got two massive awesome drink dispensers for wendie's birthday.
Can't wait to mix some cocktails up!!!
And...
STAY TUNED FOR AN INTRODUCTION TO THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY.

I read an article not too long ago and it said that happy and successful people don't hold grudges. Whilst many of you would disagree and that I completely and utterly do hold them, I think I have at least mellowed right down in many aspects of holding a grudge.
More pointedly, in arguing with others when all it is going to do is create unhappiness and tension all around. So I don't. And just keep quiet. I'm sorry if that gets interpreted the wrong way... am tired of fighting. (Here's something future boyfriend can benefit from. LOL).
Came back and decided that said rant was inappropriate.

Trying to not be complacent can be hard sometimes.
Need to find the movtivation pronto.
And stop digging myself so many deep, bottomless holes.

Who would have imagined! I certainly didn't expect to be right here, right now. (not in a life or death way people).
2 orders on the weekend, spent some time with both mama and papa, babysat my godbro for pretty much the whole weekend (scribblenauts is the game of the year and the wii is also back in fashion kids)
We had breakfast at IKEA on the weekend followed by this mind-changing trip to the new woolies in wolli. Mind-changing because it was AWESOME. I have never said a woolies is awesome because I am a pro-Coles. But this woolies totes trumps a lot of the supermarkets i have been to lately. My (slightly biased) opinion due to the extensive baking goods they have on display and on sale. WOW! and so affordable.
However, gone are the days of the gold coin donation sausage sizzles. got one for ari since he really wanted a hot dog. it was $3!! cheap sausage and just no love. :( disappointing since it was supposed to be a fundraiser. . . i know what i wouldn't do now! they should have sold cupcakes...
Work today and was crowned - "crowned" - termed loosely by Nick as CB's new "favorite" / "golden girl" (because CB only says good morning to me, asked me which tie he should wear today, said i was all over everything that happens around the office and yeah, all in good fun)
So i asked if he was jealous (jokingly) and i told him he had the other twat to pine over him. LOL.
Yeah, then he called our other power-that-be "squid". haha. . . special aren't we.
met mandy for lunchies. (only because carl ditched me at the last second!!!)
and think i opened a can of worms that my trusted advisers have crisis managed. phew! THANK YOU!

Getting sick on the first day back at work isn't ideal. So i went home.
And struggled through Tuesday and Wednesday as well.
I feel so weighed down and tired at the moment - nothing like the high i experienced coming back from Europe. But i guess this year is completely completely different to the last.
There are things that need to be done - not necessarily something that one might look forward to...
And there are just so many changes happening.
On the bright side, there are still mini trips to look forward to and random catch ups!

Happy to be going home and at the same time, not looking forward to it so much.
Time to face the music (not the correct term here though as i'm not exactly in trouble) but time to get a grip on my life! Reality brings one crashing back down to earth...
What can i say about America?
I wasn't awed.
I wasn't wowed.
I wasn't charmed.
And I can very safely say that i am glad that in live in Australia.
The people are pretty rude, the food is absolutely crap, they drive like maniacs with no respect for other drivers or users of the road, i feel unsafe in some places at night and in general just not comfortable with the lifestyle here.
The shopping was cheaper but not as good as Europe! Still have luggage space (but still no money left!).
