felt like a bit of a trip down memory lane this week!

helping my sis out with accrual accounting.

WHY WON'T YOU GET IT!?!?!?!

it was hilarious because i totally understand where she is coming from. because when i was doing 1A, i totes didn't do my readings and didn't understand most of the questions...

times may change but accounting theory never will.

and then on thursday night, took the cousin to his new high school for subject selection night.

they have 89 courses to choose from... we didn't even have half that number!

but again, not much has changed. except me thinking the whole night, i so would have picked things differently in hindsight...

so i (evidently not thinking clearly) thought i could do my tax return in my pooh bear costume... in under an hour.

lol. i am so silly sometimes...

or as nick says 'for a very bright girl, you are confused an awful lot'

anyway, just peeped through my bank statements and holy moly do i NOT save or what. it was pitiful. i deserve to be slapped around a bit or something. . . WHERE HAS ALL MY MONEY GONE??? EFF YOU CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE NOW MADE IT 'X' MANY MONTHS LONGER FOR MY FIRST HOME!

on a more positive note, i saw a dress today - it was very pretty and would have been perfect for the wedding... and it was only $50. but then i thought about it on a deeper level and i didn't buy it because i can easily wear something that i already have. so proud of myself *nods* or as my mum says 'save up, one brick at a time...' =X

anyway, back to slapping myself around... i am actually really disappointed in myself because i think i am actually quite a BIG SPENDER. wow. it even hurts to say those words to myself. i now know where my parents are coming from. . .

need a new action plan.

2-4 will be a shiat year!

i had a great birthday weekend. but it pretty much ended / went downhill from there.

boo!!!

just stressful week topped with some other shit.

anyway, going to a dress up party tonight. whoop!

and i am carl's best friend at the moment. :) :) :) i am efficient

surrounded by so much food and <3 <3 <3<3<3!!!

I can very happily and fulfilled-ly say that i am able to cross off a number of 'go-to' food establishments from my list!


Fratelli Fresh
A quick lunch there on Wednesday with Janice and Jennifer. Had the osso bucco fusili - good but was expecting a little more? Jen's meatballs and linguine looked good too. . . so full afterwards and had to go back to work. zzz... one sleepy afternoon that followed.


The Winery
So not in my nature to be bothered to pick a nice place and do something for my birthday. But so glad that i did! Had a couple of work drinks down at the basement first. Feral cheap sav blanc. . . but it did the job. Then met up with a number of the girls at Central before cabbing it to Surry Hills.


It was a really pretty place... and some really sweet and easy to drink white wine sangria.


The food was okay - i really liked the beetroot salad and pumpkin ravioli and i am so touched that so many people came to help me celebrate! Funny thing was it was actually Joyce's birthday yesterday (black friday!!!) and Sam's birthday today... and mine was still a couple of days away!


Anyway, had a great time :-) and LOVED my presents.

Quarter Twenty One, Quarter Twenty One Retail Shop & Becasse Bakery
So this morning, whilst i was still in dreamland and definitely still nursing a slightly woozy head, my sister bursts into my room and is like. YOU HAVE TO GO TO BECASSE TODAY FOR ME.

okay, it was slightly less dramatic.

But basically, she read in the news that today was the last trading day for a few of Justin North's establishments in Westfield Sydney and she was given a $200 gift voucher from her friends for her birthday. She had planned to use it in her next mid-sem break but unfortunately the company was unable to keep running despite being in voluntary administration.

And since she had to work, mum and I went in her place instead!

Unfortunately, Becasse was fully booked (sort of expected though) so we were recommended to go to Quarter Twenty One next door. 3 course al-a-carte menu (see below).

It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

The best course was the dessert. Just so... good. Well thought out, well executed and the taste was amazing. But I liked all three of my courses (prawn risotto, steak and creme brulee) and mum was really impressed with her courses too (her fav being the pudding and black sesame ice cream).

We still had money left after lunch so we went to the retail shop and becasse bakery to bring home some goodies to share. nom nom nom. will post pics of pastries soon. So good and such a shame that they are closing. But i do believe that this is temporary and that they will be back!

Dynasty
Grandmother's birthday!!! I made her cake and coconut tarts because i am a very special granddaughter ;)

Lobster, pigeon (? the bird one), all our favourite dishes and spending time with all the family - PRICELESS!!!

Food was average tonight but haven't had a chinese feast in a while so still tasted good.

Baby Justin is so much bigger now. And so restless. He wanted to run away at every chance he got. Chloe looks like she will be a future hairdressed and Brian still naughty as usual!

Found out my coz now works at Boral... hehe, time to ask Bobert what he knows :) :)

More semi-fine dining and birthday celebrations. YAY!!!!!!!!

You had to be there wen it happened...

But basically talking about plans for the weekend.

And nick is taking his niece and nephew to see ice age 4 And Alex and I at the same time were like

"omg I want to see it too!!!!" 

 And we all crack up when nick was like

"well I am obviously now taking a 5 & 8 year old... And wynnie and Alex too"

Too funny especially after talking about age... And me moaning about turning 24 Lol

and bobert emailed me today...

"it's been 1 year, 6 months and 11 days. . ." =(

spent saturday night around newtown for jan's birthday. fun and funny. tapas bar was good and then max brennars and running across king street a couple of times. jan laughed and she cried and she pretty much was drunk jan. good times!

food was interesting... wasn't much food and wasn't really my kind of spanish but sangria makes everything so much better! had lots of that!! (but i was sober enough to drive home...)

got to know a couple of the partners a bit better. ngaw andrew and amanda are so sweet.

6km run.

lunch with grandma.

got a call from my recruiter (what is he doing working on a satday??)

bought material for my next costume party.

got invited to a wedding.

baked :)

what more could i ask for?

not so exciting. . .

meant a 12 hours day. lots of reconciliation and for some reason, feel a bit... lonely?

i think its more to do with the fact that i haven't seen my sister for like a week (we keep missing each other) and now that she's back, shes crook and trying to sleep it off. poor babe. i am also jealous that she got a mini-break and i didn't. in need of some R&R...

couldn't sleep last night either. rolled around lots and lots. boo :(

And okay, so i haven't been in awhile but the stuff they got on there... amazing. changes so fast and so many good ideas that i like like like.

one day.. i will shop there. for MY apartment. so many things i want to do. and really cool concepts... *sigh*
