what a bizarre but fulfilling day it was.
i had breakfast with someone i hadn't talked to in 3 years at a new local cafe that was pretty good. pretty yummy smoked salmon, mushroom and ricotta omelette. coffee was so-so but at least it was hot enough! talked about a lot of old times and all the things in between.
then, i decided to go via westfield to pick a fight. turns out i was too eager, so i went home to do it over the phone.
and after a 40 minute wait - didn't really mind being on hold for so long - but it just fuelled my enthusiasm to get what i wanted, i was put through to someone who could help me.

so was talking to the lady about upgrading my handset... and i went from staying on my old cap with a $20 per month handset payment (this is apparently the only thing they can offer for current customers in forms of a loyalty discount - i.e., can only upgrade you with a discount on your current cap) to:
~ no cancellation fee
~ $50 bonus credit (up from $25) on your next bill
~ upgrade to the new $49 cap for the iphone 4
~ delivery fee for the new phone waived.
~ phone to be deilvered within 3 weeks
quite satisfied with that! and wasn't too hard to negotiate.
and this arvo, spent outdoors with my dogs and our lawn. oh who knew you could fee so content cutting grass.

what a fugly stray. nothing like shadow. fat (so obvoiusly he has been fed). dumb (so obviously the owners did not train him). rude (probably not desexed at the rate he tries to hump nessie). mute (not a sound out of him). stupid (his tongue sticks out... non stop).
made all these phone calls. no one can b bothered to come pick it up. oh hooray. and no, no way am i keeping it.
in other news, labour wins by a slim margin.
another one of my colleagues has resigned.
and today was the sleepiest day ever.
did i mention i played badminton last night? who would have known its such a tiring sport.

the SLOWEST monday. like. ever. i think this was pretty much the sign of things to come. half of the guys on the floor lost all email access and archives. so no work could be done. and the time was like standing still.
tuesday was slightly more normal - i think - oh except when hamish came over to ask about my IT request that went around the world and took 4 weeks to fix.
HAHAHA.
wednesday. system down. but what a busy day it was. and found out that my email access was cut off to another colleagues inbox. needless to say, team leader wasn't very impressed. neither was i.
thursday and friday just seem to meld together. work gets so much busier when the system is down for a day and a colleague is sick. grr. we were all so frustrated. and hehehe, although purposely, i think i stunned a couple of my colleagues today with some of the things i dared to say. =D =D =D hilarity ensued.
had thai last night with janpan. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMO. like the BEST thai i've had in yonks. and worth the one hour wait! so good when its just two ppl. and we got stuck on a train at redfern for half an hour. police operation my butt. nsw labor. you are gone. handled VERY poorly.
