1/28/2010 09:44:00 pm

hurstville. fail. tried on clothes at a gazillion stores but they were either too expensive or too shitty quality. lol got a cardi from tarjay?

it was awesome. and the heat was too.
i love my cabinets. theyre so beautiful. and i did it!!
my godbrother is just so naughty these days. *sigh*. just... IRRITATING.
today. welcomed 8 new members to our family.
8 chookies!!
they're so adorably adorable! and nessie was like sniffing them around and staring at them. and she's already being a big sis and watching them play and guarding them. awww. scout was just like

spent the day assembling our freshly home delivered IKEA goods.
and fslhowecshj, they are heavy. and its EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to assemble by oneself. but man, im so proud of myself. who says you need a man. haha. some of the parts are quite fiddly so took time in screwing all the different sized pieces.
dad came home and helped. and failed. like okay, it was also my fault, but the second cabinet. FAIL. we put two of the shelves in upside down and had to undo it all. that was frustrating.
but what a workout. sweated massively.
continue tomorrow. can't wait to make it all pretty with all my baking and homewares.
time for some RnR.

got up nice and early to go to ikea for the second time in two days. AWESOME.
started with ikea breakfast. $2.95 for bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, eggs and tomato. AWESOME. and then got to the serious shelf hunting.
and after 2 and a half hours, we got what we were after. and the monkey got her black tempered glass table that was shit heavy from the self-service warehouse. had to wait quite awhile for customer service today. just my luck that the TWO times that we required assistance, BOTH of the WOMEN before me had like a gazillion questions and couldn't make up their mind. STOP HOLDING UP TRAFFIC.
anyhow, they had to hunt for the cabinets. apparently they were stored high up and mighty somewhere. so that took a while. but glad that they did have it cause didn't want to trek it to the store AGAIN.
and i got a new bedside lamp. its white and glass and handmade and simple. and i wanted to get a hat stand too since i never ended up getting one for my birthday. but we were in a hurry so decided to come back to it.
of course, monkey being the bottomless stomach grub grabbed a $2 hot dog and drink combo while we waited for our merchandise to come out and fix up delivery.
so when this was all done and finished, it was just over 3 hours which technically meant we were supposed to pay for parking. and there was a traffic jam in the car park because rhodes is so fail and small and jam packed. i get to the boom gates and haha, there was NO ONE manning to gates. so it was awesome free parking!

of course, when one goes into their old place to pick up their sister, they are bound to bump into people and be obliged to talk some. but it was fine. good to catch up. and hilarious when kept on asking when i'd come back. ;)
did some shopping today at myer. further 50% off! surprisingly, (i hit 3 myer stores today), the two suburban shops were waY better than the pitt st one. that was was just big but empty.
found a couple of gems at the roselands store. then picked up another item at the hurstville one.
me and monkey had lunch at maddies in westfield. mmm.. burger. had the biggest craving. it was pretty good too. then went for a iced crushie from the cheap easyway wanna-be place. but she didn't make it as nice as the other girl. so i only had two mouthfuls before i chucked it. plus it melted super fast.
then came home and flopped on the couch cause it was so hot upstairs.
LOL dad came home late and it was because there was an accident near the m5 entrance towards the airport. and what was super funnY was that it was a 2 car accident between a normal car and a BRAND SPANKING NEW CAR that was being TEST DRIVEN.
LOL
so funny when he told us. like.. how do u claim insurance on that? and who pays for it?

mizuya is the place to be.
karaoke + food + touchscreen + ENGLISH remote + awesome lounges

even if it was rather pricey. but it seriously is a nice place and it has a nice edgy fresh new take on two very popular city scenes. so i guess if u wanted to go K and eat with a time limit, then this is the place for you.
if you don't like to be interrupted while you sing, then go somewhere else. there were at least 2 ID checks for us last night.
food was good too (a little more pricey that wagaya and less choices) and the company was awesome. ;)

we're all a little bit poorer today. i love homemaker supercentas. haha.
and had a bit of a problemo with ebay. fault on my part but it wasn't really because someone gave me the wrong egging info. but all fixed up. luckily the guy was a nice buyer. sigh, i feel like its cursed and just not meant to be sold.
expecting a big delivery in about 10 weeks time.
i'll let ya'll know when it arrives to celebrate.
no, no one is having a baby. or anything along those lines.

i want a digital perm~
at least i didn't get a parking ticket.
it looks the same. except more layered. depressing.

i guess i finally get to know how january in sydney feels like since i seem to have missed the previous heat waves of the past couple of years. but i have to say, it is still bearable because i'm not using the air conditioning.
last night, the girls came over for dinner. we mario-ed some only to discover that we all pretty much failed last night. it was just suicide one after the other. i don't even want to mention the number of continues used. we didn't even get that far either but that didn't stop the screaming.
i think we - no, not we - the other guy present kinda scarred and scared (what difference does it make?) little matt though. is that was he was nicknamed?
so we played some mj. taiwanese style. uhmhmm. its weird. like.. i sort of get it but i think i still prefer hk style. and i think its got to do with the fact that i like to build build build up my tiles (jow pai). like in taiwanese, chicken isn't chicken. O.o and there are faans for almost everything that looks big. lol
then we had some cake. it wasn't soooooooooo bad. obviously, it was a big trial cake that sort of didn't go so well according to plan. next time i won't put kiwi in the filling since it was a bit bitter. stick to the melons and strawberries (but alas, they are so expensive and sour when not in season). need to figure out the cake part. and try to undense it. but it still looked sort of like an asian cake-shop wannabe.. at least when u cut it and see the layers. haha who am i kidding.
since the immature but employed had work, they called it a night. and we planned the next cheese and wine fine dining for val's next monday.
and i drove val home. and the freakiest thing happened. there was like a bird in the middle of the road. and you would think that it would move when you see a car with lights approaching. but it didn't and i really did SLOW DOWN to try to avoid it. but like it was just sitting there and when i turned onto vals street we were like
anyhow, dropped her off. got to see her brothers shiny new gulf. (spoilt brat =P) and i had to drive back on to the road we came from by myself. and i THINK i saw a dead bird but it was still pretty plump but i think there was blood. but i'm not sure if i was imagining cause it couldve been like.. normal garbage. since there was barely any street lighting. like.. it didn't look like it had been squished under a wheel? and oh man, that was really freaky. =X =X
but i am SO proud of val for taking the initiative and roughly drafting and planning a cairns trip! i will endeavor to CUT CUT CUT costs (haha i sound like a ruthless company who doesn't care about its workers when its actually completely the opposite). have to plan other major events this year before august! i now also want to go to alice springs and uluru for no reason other than the fact that i can. haha.

so it was trial and error time.
first attempt: FAIL.
~ beat eggs whole cause mum's stooooopid recipe said so. and then she says that I DIDN'T follow the instructions (?!?!)
~ therefore, flour wasn't as incorporated as it shouldve been.
~ not enough sugar added
~ Deflated big time
second attempt: FAIL but not as bad
~ separated eggs which SEEMED to work
~ it rose in the oven but deflated again (see why i dislike sponge cakes...?) when cooling
~ i think that the recipes that we have just don't cut it in Oz. like, must be the air or something. hahaha.
~ adjusted flour quantities and added more sugar
third attempt: in the making
i.e. reserved for third time lucky.
~ will reduce flours again
~ add more milk
~ twiddle my thumbs and hope it works
and this is supposed to be a BASIC cake... gimme cheesecakes anyday.

yum cha@st george leagues club: TWO thumbs up. awesome. so much better than sunnys yesterday. like epic good service and yummy food and UNchipped porcelain.
and my sister was like.. a machine.
whats with the chicken feet fascination?
but free tea AND free egg tarts. yeah, i'm fast becoming the next VIP. lol NOT. but srly, i will def be back.
came back. decided to go burn some calories by taking my mutts to the park. and there were two other dogs there. but we took over the park. hahahahaha. like.. they saw and and left soon after. what baffled me was that both the owners took their dogs to the park IN A CAR.
i mean, unless u live very far away (and if u did, why can't u find a local park and walk there), what is the point of taking your dog out if theyre not going to walk there???
nessie is so lazy that she wouldnt run after the ball unless i ran after it. completed defeats the purpose.
scout, well, he was tied up on his extra long leash. lol but i think he was happy.
shame it got really hot and sunny. didn't stay too long cause dogs and sun dont go so well. but awesome~

just spent the last 2 hours explaining how courses, electives and majors tie into programs and building my sister's timetable. and how electives aren't really electives. are how you really don't have much of a 'choice'.
it looks awesome in the no-breaks, 3-day a week way. =D
GG I MISS UNI.

evidently in holiday mode as it takes 3 days to post about my new years. hahaha.
we trashed one of the boys' soccer/high school buddy's house on NYE and watched the fireworks from their balcony which was pretty cool. the night involved a lot of kicking balls, food and more food, the girls walking to the station with alcohol in their hands and asking every shop owner (those that were open anyway) whether or not they had sparklers and being denied every single time. xD
there was also a loooooootttttt of alcohol. to the point where some people drank one FULL bottle of southern comfort on their own. and we got to make fruit tingles! exciting. and then rolled around on the grass whilst the boys grappled and did what homo boys do. (re: fb photos). at least we didn't get to the part where they were going to climb the water tower 2 streets away cause they wouldn't have gone down too well since some of them could barely stand up...
*tries to remember what happened on new years day * oh yes, i made the first fail cake of the year without even knowing why. like.. my bailey's cheesecake just decided to have a massive crack in it which pissed the hell out of me. cause it meant i had to go get more ingredients to make a surprise 18th birthday cake for my sister's friend. so i was cooped up doing that which meant i couldn't go to the beach with jan and the guys. =( =(
jan came over later for dinner and she didn't want to leave. LOL i was like.. please leave please leave im bugggered. HAHAHAHHA jks.
went furniture looking again yesterday. but nothing came that close to the first time.. now we can focus on choosing a colour. and time to clean out all the house waste. bi-annual council collections make me so happy. it means we can get rid of all the ugly shits! =D
