i spent the entire month of january in hong kong. it was cold. and the dollar was pretty low. but i somehow came back with an extra suitcase of goods.
then came february which marked the first of many 21st celebrations. this one was harry's valentine themed party at the Kings' Cross Hotel where we all got exceedingly red and cherry almost reversed into another car in a dodgy alleyway.
march. the last semester of uni and japan trip in the making. who could forget the viewing of "How To Be" and michael's farewell @ Bavarien Bier Cafe following that on the same night. where valerie made a name for herself downing a beer and a shot in the span of about 15 minutes. sometime during the month was also martin's 21st at Hotel CBD.
melbourne came in april but not before donna's 21st at Hurricanes Bondi where it poured. but the food (so much meat) was good and the cake was rich. melbourne was fan-spanking-awesome. the coffee. the coffee. the alcohol. the comedy festival. brunswick. the cafes. everything.
may came and went with elena's 21st at the bavarian bief cafe where it also poured heaps. and there was the night where D and i went crazy about those 5 cent gold coast tickets. it could still happen...
in june, we went to wagaya just before valerie left for a short trip to hong kong. i think this was the first time we er, experienced soochu at wagaya. =D it was also my grandma's big 90-something birthday bash where relatives from oversees came over.
july! we made it half way and in style! uni's finished forever and its time to celebrate with sam's alice in wonderland themed 21st again at Kings Cross Hotel. mmm tequila shots although i wasn't so tipsy this time around. then we had another epic break way. this time, with our roadtrip to the hunter valley. girls only! and we bought so much wine! =D =D =D awesome~~ and then it was MY turn to celebrate and party hard with my fairytale 21st. who could forget that my godfather is cherry's lecturer. teeheehee. and the three blind mice. and JANICE CAME AS THE FROG PRINCE (?)!!!
august and i'm a graduate! so we went to wagaya for dinner. more soochu. and justin crying over wasabi. epicly awesome. it was also the final meeting for the japan meeting. it ended in style - hurricanes darling harbour and french riviera.
in september, i learnt the phoenetic alpha-lima-papa-hotel-alpha-beta-echo-tango ;) it was also the time when japan finally fell through. =( and i bought a wii to compensate.
october was my rather controversial china trip. it was an experience of a lifetime. i got to see so many new things, meet so many amazing people and experience things i would never get the chance to here in oz. i came back with what i thought was so much more than i started with. and for the next two months, i couldn't really decide whether i wanted to stay or go.
november felt like a bit of a crisis point for me. i was still torn over working in china. and i couldn't work out my future. it was also my last days working at tarjay (no matter what outcome i decided to make at the end of the day...). but it ended with a sweet note with valerie's 21st at *drumroll* WAGAYA!! she wore a dress! and i made the cake!! and we got oh SO high at viva k. we must do it again sometime soon.
december. its supposed to be the festive season. but this year, its rather mellow. it doesn't mean that we didn't have out christmas party or that christmas didn't happen. but it just doesn't feel like a true christmas. a lot of people this year weren't here with us to celebrate christmas. friends and family alike. a lot of them were overseas and others had their own issues to work out. nonetheless, my christmas break was filled with events. family gathering. boxing day movie. stocktake shopping. furniture shopping.
its the end of a decade and time for a change. so i guess we should be looking forward and not backwards. there will always be good times and bad times. but nows the time to bring in the new year! =D hope 2010 will be even better than 2009.
